Playing Card Test

Hi everyone,

I had my first successful, very conscious OBE this morning, two in fact! There'a a lot to be said for attempting to OBE after you've already slept, this has worked great for me.

Once I was out, (in the RTZ) I remembered that I had placed a playing card face up on a high shelf in another bedroom about 5 months ago! I went to it and discovered that the card was actually face down. I thought to myself that this was not right, but I actually tried to pick it up and turn it over. I looked at the card very hard but it was like trying to focus on a book when your blind drunk. I remember thinking, 'this is difficult, I think it's the five of diamonds' but the pattern kept changing and swirling around.

Once I went back to my body, I immediately went to the shelf and retrieved the card, guess what....I actually had placed it face down by accident! It was the eight of diamonds not five, but that's pretty close considering I could not have actually picked up the physical card really.

Do you think it was a coincidence, or did I somehow physically perceive the card?

Thanks for reading!  :-D

AJDIN

Awesome bro!

Question, what were you thinking about before you got into an AP in the RTZ?

Hi AJDIN,

Nothing really. I was having a lazy morning, so I whenever I woke up I thought I'd try to AP but most of the time I just fell beck to sleep. I've been having spontaneous sleep paralysis, (sometimes with vibrations) since I was about 10 or 11 but it hasn't happened in a while, and when it has I haven't been able to separate, (it used to scare me because I knew nothing about AP or OBE until I found this site)

Anyway, I just woke up all of a sudden with SP and vibrations, I then remembered what somebody on this site said about forcing yourself to move (rather than just imagining your floating, because that hasn't worked for me lately) and there I was, pulling myself up and out!
I had some vision problems at first but I managed to sort that out. Then I was going to go downstairs to see if I could see my wife when I suddenly remembered the card on the shelf.

The second one of that morning happened without any separation. I all of a sudden found myself out of a dream and stood on my stairs. I remember thinking, 'wow, I'm out again!' I then decided to go all they way down and jump into a mirror to see if I could find another world, which I did. But I knew that I was still within my own focus 2 and not on the astral proper, because I remember thinking about it when I was there.  :-)

Seeing that it was face down was a verification in itself. I'd call that a success.

I wouldn't call it a success, it's actually quite likely that you placed it face down by accident since it would not have been something you were in the habit of doing correctly.

You should do this test a few more times, however, it would be interesting to see the results of repeat experiments!

Lionheart

There was a television show named "Beyond Belief" recently that took a look at OBE's/Nde's. In the final segment of the show a doctor that worked in a Cardiac Unit, placed a card with some picture into one of the upper top corners of the room. He did this to see if any of the people that were experiencing seeing their bodies in the room could see it. He had just recently done this and had no verifiable results as of the programs airing.

I did place it face down by accident, I actually thought it was face up when I did it, that's why I was so surprised to find it was face down whilst in an obe, and in the physical.  :-)

I have actually placed another card there now, (definitely face up!), I just hope it doesn't take another five months to obe again!!!  :|

Sorry I didn't mean that it's likely that your mistake was accidental, I meant that it was very likely that you might make that mistake, and thus the odds of it being face down were probably around 40-50%, not too unusual. Your dream had a 40-50% chance of correlating to reality.

Yes your quite right. Hopefully I can repeat the experiment soon  :-)

I'll let you know if I do.  8-)

yeah ... sure, as if when you have a traumatic NDE during survery on the OP table you have nothing better to do than to incidentally look for a playing card ...

Lionheart

The people that had NDE's in his room (Cardiac Room), said to him that they were always floating at the ceiling, looking down at their won bodies. Hence the card being put high enough to see it only from the ceiling. It wasn't small like a playing card, it was a large picture or geometrical shape.
