How long on average does it take for you all to project after randomly waking up in the middle of your sleep? Because i wake up about 3 times during sleep due to dreams and this morning after I woke from a dream I stayed conscious for about 5 minutes trying to go back to sleep, I felt myself pretty much shutting off and getting close to projecting

So how long do you all lay there for after waking up? And what do you all mainly do to project since it takes such a short while I'm hoping after waking up, just focus on breathing in and out? And boom I should be there lol

If I wake up and my body is still asleep (sleep paralysis) I can usually project right away...but I used to wake up in the night and watch tv or something for an hour (sometimes 2) while I fed and tried to get my son back to sleep.
When I would go back to bed I would fall into sleep paralysis and project from there.

I echo this. To fall into a pre-projection state it takes me as long as it takes to fall asleep... with about 10-30 minutes of focus work beforehand.

So it just isnt likely to be really sleepy after randomly waking up and going back to sleep within 5 minutes and keep your mind awake?

urshebear

It is possible.
If I do that I have to completely log out as one would just before they fall to sleep and then you have to try and log back in again (tricking your body into falling asleep)
Its tricky but it can be done

Yesterday for instance, I woke up randomly from sleep, and would keep myself from moving much.....And i would phase into a dream image usually within' 1-3 minutes after waking up. When i wake up, I fall back asleep almost instantly, this might be an advantage on my part =D...

But it depends i guess. I've always been known to pass out fast.

I have exited and re-entered dreams and that usually takes less than 10 seconds or so. And I felt that i was awake during that time. Any more and you may start getting more awake instead of more asleep as I think the goal is. Falling back to sleep before you become too awake.

If it takes more than a minute you might as well go to the toilet or something before falling asleep again. It seems the the "just woke up" that makes it easy to fall back asleep is gone by then.

So my plan, each time I wake up during sleep I should do a falling exercise for about 5-10 and I should be out? Since I can go back to sleep really quick upon waking up

djed

Hi Nickis, can you give an example of a falling exercise?, haven't read about that.
Cheers, djed

I usually either picture myself on a cloud that's floating up drastically, or I get a mental image of my body in bed and imagine myself slowly floating above it

Does anyone see a problem with what I do? Since I technically haven't had a full conscious experience, am I just not doing the exercises at the right time?
