Question Concerning Higher Self

Hi; this is my first post.  I'm 17; my name is James.  I've been browsing the forums whenever I get the chance.

I have always been interested in the supernatural and spirituality.  Since I was a young child I've demonstrated healing abilities.

I have attempted astral projection in the past, but unfortunately didn't keep trying.  However, I have much more information now, and that is helping me keep focused.  I first OBE was very unclear, and I'm not really sure that is what it was.  I was sitting on the porch waiting for the bus (I was about 14 years old) when I noticed something, a shadow, but I couldn't see exactly what it was.  I thought maybe it could be a puppy, so I got up to investigate.  I floated along, looking at the grass, as a ball of consciousness.  I did not see my feet or legs, and it didn't even occur to me that I was out of my body.  I verified that it was a shadow, went back to the porch, sat down, and suddenly felt very heavy.  That is when I realized I had an OBE.  Though I wasn't completely conscious that I was having an OBE, it was clearer than a dream.

The second time I projected, it occurred in a dream.  I barely remember the dream.  In the last scene, I was in a church with candles.  Suddenly it became dark.  The dream blurred and faded away, leaving me in total darkness, where I flew/danced.  It was such a wonderful feeling!  I remember thinking, "Wow, I used to do this all the time!  How did I ever forget?  I'm going to start doing this again!"  It felt so familiar, and I was so tremendously happy.  I was surprised to read on these forums that projections can occur in which one is unable to see.

My life has been hard.  The past few years I have been through much abuse and mental illness, though I believe there is a difference between my healing abilities (etc.) and the mental illness.  I have lost some of my direction, and I'm devestated by the war and hate in the world.  Some days I'm okay, some days I struggle, so I am trying to re-gain my sense of direction by projecting and going to my higher self.  Is it possible for me to speak to my higher self on the astral plane?

Hi stubborn-envelope!! Welcome to the forums
It's very cool that you are seventeen, you have plenty of time to practice OBE and to find "your higher self". I don't really know if you can speak to your HS while in OBE, but for sure you will be able to know yourself if you want to. I don't really know if OBE will give you what you are searching for, but it's very cool anyway.

Which war ? Where are you from ? Maybe you will get in the right path by reading spiritual stuff. There are a lot of books/mp3 out there that for sure will help you for this:

OK, James, but which war are you talking about ? Where are you from ?

All of them, but since I am from America, the most prominent one in my mind is the war in Iraq.

You will not find your HS in the astral.
It is hard to find guidance of any sort in the astral plane.
That's the bad news...

The good news. The plane "above" or of a higher vibration,
known by many names: F27, mental plane, devachanic
plane, love plane - is a great place to meet guidance.

But, to get there, ironically you have to suspend depression
for a moment. You can't get there directly from the astral,
you have to "teleport" there by a change in emotions.

This is useful even in a meditative state for finding your HS:

Fill love up in your heart. Think of something or someone
that brings you joy. Focus on it for awhile and allow
that energy to spread throughout your body. It is a respite
from the density & sadness of the earth plane, and it
is the only way out of the astral, that I know of.

This may sound unorthodox, but, the Higher-Self is actually your main or primary guide.  Something very different to your helper guides that many people are communicating with.

You can communicate with the HS while in the physical, all the astral levels/layers and beyond them into and through the Soul level awareness layers.  That's what i call them anyways.

Your higher-self exists in each and every layer or level of the astral and is very much active in them and the soul level awareness above them.  Once you have merged again with the HS, you will regain all your memories, understand what you really are and know why you chose to here again.

If you want to get guidance from your guides, you do not need to astral project to do so.  You can simply call out to them in your mind and ask them for guidance in whatever it is that you need guidance for.  It's like praying, but you address your guides.  I have been doing this lately, and it has been working.  They do believe in freewill though, and if your guidance request interferes with your Karma, destiny, etc. you may not receive an answer.  Sometimes we are to work things out on our own.

Thanks, Tish.  I have had some limited contact with them on the physical plane, but it would still be nice to confirm it on the astral as well.  Maybe they are helping me, though because I seem to be doing well, and I've asked for help.

The one I would suggest you definitely look at is the one titled 'Who you really are'. Kryon talks about Higher Selves of everyone on earth at this time and the true relationship between us and our Higher Selves.

In here you will find many meditations techniques that will help you beyond your wildest dreams. for your mental problem I suggest you look at the article titled 'Awakening your brain', this one will really help you. This technique by Lazaris removes any 'flaws' in the brain and your Higher Self steps in towards the end of the technique.

Under the heading 'Channeled Meditations' you will find two meditation techniques on how to make contact with your Higher Self. One technique is from Lazaris and the other one is from Orin and DaBen.

I wish you good luck and I want you to know that it is not by mistake that you want to contact your Higher Self, because You are the Higher Self and the Higher Self is You... And there is no separation at all, only the veiled truth about your relationship on your side.

 I have been thinking the same thing also.

I'm sure you can communicate with your higher-self while in the body, but that takes practice and listening very closely for signals.

But if you go to the astral you could probably have direct communication.

Tayesin do you know if this is true?
