Random Astral Projections

I've had several Astral Projections at seemingly random times during the night but I can't seem to actually be aware of them. When I have them randomly i feel like I am 'aware' but they would be much more interesting if I could just lay down, and within a few minutes, be somewhere else. One of them I remember i was flying over a large body of water, I want to say it was an ocean because there was a dock. I flew past it but can't remember much else beyond that. Some other experiences are as little as sitting up in bed and then laying back down, while another one was walking into a shop and running into a silvery dog that looked like it had been covered in tinsel.

I am glad though that I can write them down or I wouldn't be able to share them with everyone here who has similar experiences. There are a ton more but I am new to the forum and don't know where it would be appropriate to share them. Some advice though could go a long way! Thank you! Looking forward to reading other experiences!  :-D

The obe where you lay down and consciously leave your body/switch your focus is one of the harder tasks to achieve; it is normal for awhile to have a slight loss in awareness during the transition, and this results in a variety of experiences such as you have described.

Keeping a dream journal will pay off in a year or so; you will start to notice patterns and themes that help you determine what is shaping your experiences. This is probably the most valuable thing you can do right now.

"Intent" and how you utilize it/direct it, is another aspect to think about. Your experiences totally depend on your application of intent.

Just some ideas.
Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.

I've had something like a dream journal for awhile now. I keep it on my I touch, so even if I don't remember all of the dream/AP/ I can just write down what I remember. Thanks for the advice though!

I am a beginner to AP and OBE. there have been many attempts for me to separate with only little success so far. About a month ago I was able to get my arms out and my head to raise and look down at my arms. It was my first half success I believe. As I attempted to fully separate I felt as if something was holding me down inside my body, like someone or simething was restraining me. As I realized this I became frustrated and lost focus. My first successful conscious separation happened as my dream became lucid one night and became aware yet still asleep. I felt the urge to go to the bathroom and within an instant I was there in the bathroom with the odd feeling that something was off. And as I realized what happened I was back in my body. I was feeling residual vibrations afterwards. So my first success was by accident. Funny how that worked out.

I can still remember that odd feeling as if I split in two I felt weightless and I also felt my physical body at the same time and as I stood in the bathroom I felt my body still laying in bed. As soon as I thought of my body I was back in bed. I got up to go and I had the feeling of deja vu.It was a breakthrough for me yet at the same time funny as hell as I laughed at the fact that my first experience was to the bathroom of all places I could've gone.

Wow... There's one heck of an exit! :D Ironically, I was fully aware of needing to go to the bathroom in my first projection. (I was somewhere else REALLY FAR from my house though) It wasn't how I exited though!
