roll over method

I take all of that back.  I was able to try the roll out method this morning.  (its great having to wake up 5 hours earlier than usual).  Its been good for OBE's anyway.

It worked well this time. And had an intersting time. Must have been a fluke that one time.

Last time i suceeded in OBE i didn't roll over but I just rose up and then when i was out it felt like I was low on energy. I was like..nothing. Just floated around and couldn't see well. then everything turned black[xx(]. woke up.

Right goingslow ! The 'roll over' or 'roll out' method is easily the best method that I've found so far. By far and away I have had more projections by using this method than any other. The next closest is projection directly out of a lucid dream.
What I especially like about 'roll out' is that it focuses specifically on getting out of the physical body. Getting into the right state of mind requires another method. Yet once in that state of mind 'roll out' is indeed Very effective. [:)]

I dont know why i didnt try it before.  It was so smooth, the exit.  What I think is cool about it is you really "know" when you'll be able to do it.  Or so it seems.. although I was afraid at first i'd actually roll over and hit my head.

when I hit the floor though i knew it had worked.  Another weird thing happened i had never seen my body before but with this method I could see it.  Though it was kinda unnerving and im not sure I want to see it again.

Cool method though.. I want to try it again when i wake up in that state.

The roll out should work at least 25 % to 50 % of the time when the right conditions are achieved. I just need to be lucky enough to wake up in those conditions (vibrations, total relaxation and maybe sleep paralysis). (Creating those conditions from meditation is difficult for me[?])

If I understand correctly in this method you just get very relaxed and after sometime you just roll over to the side. There are some more into the preparation but basically that's it. I've found that it is a very good method for OBE. If I use my fear of falling from my bed I would fall down. I was like a liquid pouring on the floor. Variation of roll out that I've used is float up and just waking up normally. At one time I even use my finger to pull myself away from my body while lying on my back.

One more thing is that sometime I also feel the feeling of no substance but I describe it more like being hollow. Lack of energy? I also feel the same when I keep falling from my bed and climbing back up for many time until I realised I'm already out and should just move away. This happens many time and shows me that there are many cases of absent minded projection.

What state do you need to be in to have the roll out method work?  In the hypnagogic state, or in condition D meditation (waking up and then practicing control of hypnagogic state which is easier to experiment with after already being somewhat in that state after waking up early)

In the roll out method, are you just mentally "feeling" yourself rolling out of your body without any actual physical movement?

Terry B's description of the 'roll over' method (also called 'roll out') is correct and covers the most important points. Basically you just Mentally roll over and out of the physical body. This is a mental activity. There is NO physical movement (which will ruin the experience.)
The best mental state pre-projection for me is hypnagogic (= total physical relaxation), vibrations and sleep paralysis. Vibrations and SP are helpful but not absolutely necessary.

This is actually the method I used to have my FIRST PROJECTION! I got my variation on this from someone on this forum, I can't remember who it was though. You imagine kind of a rectangular box around you, and try to push on this box to turn urself around, without moving ur actual body of course.

How do you get the vibrations though? I was thinking that the "roll over" method was just a second part in the separation process once the vibrations have occurred, but I have not been able to figure out how to induce vibrations (monroe's method doesn't seem to be working.. for one its due to my poor visualization of the beams and point, no matter what state I am in).

Any techniques you could recommend to induce the vibratory state that doesn't involve visualization or heavy relaxation/trance exercises?

Im the same way.. I really dread doing relaxation work and trance work...so I use the only thing that works for me.  Waking up very early after about 4 hours of sleep...then trying from there.  It really helps if your body is very tired so im doing things like running and cycling more.

They seem to come on faster this way for a lot of people.  One smart thing to do is actually get up.. reset your alarm or whatever.. and maybe drink a glass of water.. just to make sure you dont fall right back asleep.

Hey ya'll !

This morning, became aware that I was in a dream.  I was in my old childhood home in New Mexico, and was walking in the hallway, then I realized I wasn't really walking, I was sorta floating across the floor, the minute I noticed this I started straight up!  Then WHOOSH, I am at my real home,  looking at the ceiling fan..I know I was in Paraylsis, so I tried the "roll out" method...But my darn legs lifted...and lifted...and lifted..geez I was almost standing on my head...I had to chuckle at this..but I continued to try and roll from side to side....But I just couldn't get it to work for me...I ended up starting to think about the phone ringing and making me wake-up...well, not wake-up, cause I was totally awake already.  I just opened my Physical eyes.

I think I should have just let my legs continue to float and eventually it would have pulled me out the rest of the way, but with me trying to make something different happen, screwed it up..for now on I vow to let it happen the way it starts..[:D]

Nay you might want to try "willing" yourself out of your body when you're that far out already.  Often I'll just say "i want to float up".. it only really works for me when im pretty much out.. but not ALL the way... and ill float up to the ceiling.

Anyone here use the rolling over method to Project?

I tried it the other night after reading one of Monroe's books.  It was weird for me because it worked right away which was great.. but I felt like a baby.   I had no energy at all and i was all turned around or something.  Maybe i was low on energy or something but i felt really weak.

Anyone else have similiar experiences with the rolling out method?  I'd like to try it again.. maybe it was just a fluke.  But i couldnt go anywhere.  I felt like there was no substance to me
