Can Astral Projection Turn Into Dreams (Including Prophetic Ones)?

I posted this on another forum, but reworded a couple of things for this one.  No one gave me input on it so far, so maybe I can get an answer here.

I stopped doing astral projection for awhile, until yesterday, when I found a forum and got inspired again by a post where someone visited another member's room or something.

So I told my friend that I was going to try and visit her room and tell her what I saw.  I was determined.

So I tried early this morning.  I rolled out of my body each time I tried and made it out my house.  However, each time I tried to go to her house, I was unwillingly led to somewhere other than her house for a brief moment, then sucked back into my body.

I tried at least four of five times; each time waking up and getting myself back into astral mode within 60 seconds.  This is a shock to me because whenever I did it on purpose, I could never do it this fast.  It had only did it this fast when I went without trying or having any intentions to do it.

The places that I went to last night didn't feel like astral travel.  They just felt like dreams. I didn't have any type of buzzing sound in my ear and I didn't have any tingling sensation in my body as I usually did.  It no longer felt like astral projection. It was as if something or someone wasn't letting me do it.  Instead, it was if they were saying, "Each time you try to do this, I'm going to just lead you into a dream instead."

The very last place, or "dream" that was brought to me, through trying to go to my friend's house in astral travel, scared me.

I ended up in a place that was gloomy...like how it looks after it rains.  I noticed myself on this land and instantly thought, "Please don't let this be a cemetery," because that's what the feel of it reminded me of.  I looked over and saw headstones; it was indeed a cemetery.

I then noticed that I was at a funeral, when I saw a huge group of people, dressed in black. Whenever I see these things, I get scared because I know that they are always messages for real life.

(This is a familiar thing.  Every since I was a child, I would have prophetic dreams, especially when it came to people dying.  They were never exactly how the dream showed itself, but they were shown to me in a way that whoever gave them to me made sure I knew what it meant.)

I looked over to see the mother of my friend (the one that I was trying to visit through astral travel), kneeling down to the ground crying, as her loved ones tried to pick her up.

That's when I realized that this was the funeral of my friend.

I then saw a crowd of people who were also there for the burial.  Even my parents were in the crowd, which is weird because they don't know my friend and they're not the type of people to show up at funerals of people that they don't know personally. I found myself apart of this crowd, as they could see me. There were a couple of people with mail in their hands.  I begged one of them to let me read their mail.  I felt that if I could see it, I would get a date as to when we were at this place.  The guy refused to show me.

In real life, my friend has an inoperable tumor that she was diagnosed with last year.  It's the type of tumor where most people with this tumor don't make it past two years.  Next month makes her second year since her diagnosis.  However, there's some survivors of this same tumor and although they make up no more than 1%, I felt in my heart that my friend would be one of them.  She also shows optimism about it and is continuing her life as if she doesn't have it.

So can astral projection turn into dreams?

Pauli2

Yes, many people have reported that they loose lucidity from an OBE and get lost in a dream.

Yes.  Just as waking life can turn into a dream when you fall asleep, its a shift in focus brought about by a change in awareness, however subtle that change may seem.

In my opinion the only thing that differentiates a dream from an astral projection is how consciously aware you are.
You can "gain" full conscious awareness (I call it a "waking awareness") while in a dream... it can also go the opposite direction if you happen to lose focus and get lost within what's going on around you.
