My experiences

I used to have various experiences..

The first few experiences all started with spontaneous OOBE, which leaves me thinking "OMG! What's happening?!" And those experiences just happened, unplanned. Some were pleasant, where I saw green pasture but snapped back to my body thinking that I could have passed on... Others were unpleasant, in which I met entities whom I did not feel comfortable with.

Then, I did some research on the net and realized that this is OOBE, and it can even be induced. Friends whom I have shared this with dismissed my experiences as dreams.  But I knew it wasn't.

So, I started to practice conscious exit method.  Just to share my experiences with those who are reading right now, and who are attempting hard to do it, there are a few good reading up that you should do, including some of the very good ones in this forum. But the one that works for me, is the attempt to keep my body asleep, and my mind awake.

I started out lying on my bed at night, trying to keep up to what similarly most articles would suggest. The next thing was... I woke up in the morning knowing that nothing happened! (Or at least I wasn't conscious enough when it did). Does that sound familiar?  :| My desire for conscious exit was so strong, that I affirmed my intention by writing, thinking of it all day, and telling myself I would be able to do it.

At that time, I was also taking Yoga lessons and a 40 min session of meditation every week. It did not come to me that what I was doing was bringing everything in place.

I finally experienced my conscious exit after trying for two weeks.  But I remembered two weeks before it happened while I was trying hard every night, I could remember vividly all my dreams after I woke up.

The experience of conscious exit was amazing! Everything described by most people who has experienced it happened -- like the famous vibrations.. and having the sight even with your eyelids closed. My first experience happened in the day at about 7am after I woke up, and decided not to get out of bed with the intention of wanting to try OOBE. Those were the perfect moments, because I just got off from a dream, my mind was still active, but my body was still tired.

That was the only conscious exit I had.

Nowadays, my experience were somewhat different, and I do not know if it is supposed to be that way. My past experience, what I first saw during my exits were my physical locations -- my bedroom.

Nowadays when I tried to induce OBE, I don't experience the vibrations anymore, it bring me to places straight away. I don't understand why it happens like that.  And most of the time, I am already floating or flying somewhere -- above the sea, above the desert, or some other rooms which are entirely strange to me. I knew I was in OOB state, as I definitely and tell it apart from a dream.

But everytime when this happens, I felt the "expanded consciousness", and it is a feeling full of joy.

I really wish that I could experience conscious exits again, but on the other hand, my fear are those unknown entities sometimes I might meet.

Does anyone knows if experiences like these are supposed to happen that way? As it, as you go along with the OOBEs, it should bring you to a further location? And I did not plan to go to these places, I just found myself there..

Any enlightenment would be appreciated.

Hi bakingpowder
Despite your misgivings you Are progressing in the art of astral travel. Yes it is discouraging to have one deliberately induced OBE and then not be able to do it again. Yet that is what happens to many people. They enjoy one success followed by a very long "dry spell" of failures. So do NOT become disillusioned and DO continue with whatever "Conscious exit method" that resulted in that one success.
btw Long dry spells are rather common even for "experienced" projectors. I went nearly 2 years with only one OBE.

Thanks Grey.. I will keep trying.

I read Frank's resource and suspected sometimes what I experienced was phasing. I tried for conscious exit that time because many books I read about astral projection wrote that we should not just take their words for it. We need to experience it to find out the truth for ourselves.

But OOBE was one of the best thing that has happened to me! I will resume my practice from today!
