Sighted on the physical plane while astral travel

i haven't had any experience like this, i haven't even had a real obe yet. but i know it has to do with your 'third eye'. you can even see yourself from both your physical and astral bodies at the same time, like is described in astral dynamics.

I have read on line, a case where it was not a ghost that was
seen, it was a white ball of light. A man was sitting in his living
room after his wife and 4 year old son had gone to bed. A white
ball of light came from his son's bedroom and visited him where he
was sitting, in such a way that he had reason to believe it was his
son.

    Also, at another time, a white ball of light came from his
wife's room and went to his son's room to check on him. There was
something about the way that the light moved that caused him to
think that it was his wife.

    I myself have seen a white ball of light pass by outside my
window. It was about the size of a basketball, a little irregular
in shape. I saw it go behind the window frame and emerge behind the
adjacent window. It did not illuminate things much, but had its own
opaque light. I immediately got my big flashlight to see if a
flashlight could have caused it, but no way. That area outside my
window is enclosed.

Cases of a (physical) person seeing someone who is out of body have been reported many times. Robert Monroe mentioned at least one occurance in his book 'Journeys Out of The Body'.
So, though it is not a common occurance, it does happen now and then. Not surprisingly most people who see astral projectors are family members or close friends. A close personal bond helps them see a person who is otherwise invisible to other people.

I was thinking the same thing, about having a close bond.
Good thing I kept reading, instead of posting right away.

I too had an experience kinda like that.  I found myself out of my body one morning. I only realised it after I walked into the bathroom to get ready, but when I looked in the mirror I couldn't really see myself, so I looked over to the bed.. and there was my physical body.  I walked into the hallway, went into my daughter's bedroom (she was under a year old at the time) And she was floating in the air with a bright light all behind her.  It was really cute, cause she was just hanging there in the air, smiling away with her arms and legs just a kicking..(you know how a baby will lay there cooing and kicking around) So I grabbed her and started dancing with here in my arms, I started to walk back to my room and the closer I got to my room the greyer everything got.  Then I woke up in the physical..I haven't thought about that in a while.. I think this is quite common...well, you know what I mean.  My father saw me as "a ghost" once when I was a child.  I also remember Robert Bruce writing about a time when his nephew visited and had a succesful projection and RObert saw him float into his room through the wall and waved to him!

I think children are probably more apt to see someone out of body simply because they are more open to the "non-physical" (I put it in quotations because I think it's still physical, just "refined" for lack of a better term).

Cool story about the balls of light too...that makes sense (since we can shed our spirit bodies and are really point of light or consciousness.

The first time I experienced this I was in the living room and I felt a sense of something ominous happening or something- a heaviness. Then I was just looking as if something was about to happen, and my mom came hurriedly walking out of her room into the kitchen. I knew something was strange. Under a minute later my mom came hurriedly walking out of her room into the kitchen. She walked in the exact splitting image fashion as the first, which I then recognized as her nonphysically walking through first, maybe because she was thinking about it so much.

I once projected to a girl who is, or was, clairvoyant. To test me and her I projected to her, without telliing her, and she calls me that evening and tells me she saw me in her room.

Sightings of the spirit/soul/consciousness of a Living person who is out of their physical body are called Doppleganger sightings. Doppleganger is a German word. (Not sure what it means. Probably 'misty person' or something like that.)
BTW there were several stories of doppleganger sightings in the tv show 'Beyond Belief, Fact or Fiction'. One story was about the doppleganger of a (sick) boy who physically fed cookies to a hungry wolf And lay in bed with fever At the Same Time !

On the night of 11/3/93, according to my son, who was six years old at the time, I was a ghost in his room during the night. I asked him if this could have been a dream? He insisted that I was in his room and that I was a ghost.  He said he was very frightened. Again on the night of 1/6/94 my six year old, who had now turned seven, reported to me that he had seen my ghost during the night again.  On this occasion he said that he followed me around the house and observed me passing through walls, and at one point he said that I was floating at the ceiling. When I asked him what I was wearing, to my surprise, he said I had on a bathrobe.  The reason I felt surprised was that normally I just sleep im my pjs but that particular night I did wear my bathrobe to bed. I would be interested in hearing from anyone else who has someone in the physical claiming to have seen them while they were in the astral body.
