Hello, so I'm new here and I guess here's my story..
I've taught myself to lucid dream in the past and was extremely excited when I managed to do it. I kept doing this for a while and recently Astral Projection was brought to my attention by a lady that I met. I had heard of AP in the past and did not think much of it, however what I was told really interested me.

Being interested I started doing some research around the web and eventually I was brought here and I have been reading over peoples experiences, which has got me extremely excited. The past couple of nights I started attempting to do this as I've had the onset feelings in the past which until now I had no idea what they were.

The first method I tried was visualizing meself outside of my body laying down in my bed at night, I felt at the time that I made progress towards AP as was of course excited.

Last night however I tried a new method that I had read about (The rope pull method) which seemed a lot easier and I thought it would fit my needs. And last night I figured that it must have.

I started off doing some relaxation techniques that I read about such as relaxing from head to toe, then visualizing my bones and flesh and stuff while attempting to relax them. At this point my breathing was slowing and I felt very relaxed and started attempting to "pull" myself out of my physical body. All of the sudden, I started spinning and fast, as well as the room. It felt as though everything including myself was spinning in a different direction. I felt pulses of energy I suppose and it was extremely hard to focus on the "pulling" while this was happening since it was very intense. Then my heart started racing and pumping pretty hard and my breathing became shallow. Every time my breathing would get shalllow it became very hard to not focus on it and stabilize my breathing which cause everything to go away. Finally I could not keep concentration and it all left. This was amazing and I'm assuming I was close.

Does this sound familiar? The pulses or surges kind of felt like vibrations or opening of my chakras. And at one point it felt like something was lifting up my right side? It's hard to explain. I'm extremely excited and am going to try again tonight!

Congratulations, you are starting to experience the first "road signs" to the Astral. Believe it or not it will get more intense, then as you practice you will find you can Phase in minutes without hardly any sensations. You will be here one moment and the next you are Astral Traveling.
Good Luck and Safe Travels  :-)

Yep. practice practice practice. I have been at this on and off for a little over a year now, but this last month I have been really focused on it and practicing a lot more than usual. Already this month I have had 2 conscious AP experiences as well as a improved Dream recall. I used to struggle to remember bits of my dreams but now I can remember most of what I dreamed almost every night :) as you can see practice has more than one benifits.
