Phew... Scary indeed. I also want to ged rid of my fears. Fears of what you just described. Of what may be waiting when I leave my body.

Thanks for sharing. If he shows up again, give him another psi-surprise.

Cheers! /Flummox

On meeting a wayward ghost....

Well, the best way to deal with a fearful situation is to face it head on. I wouldn't have used a lure as a distraction. Myself, I would have tested the thing a bit to see if it was actually a deceased human. If it was cooperative I'd try to find a way to help him/it move on.

Being fearful serves no purpose except to hinder you, so the only way to get past it is to face it and deal with it one way or another. If you project again and it re-appears, don't rush up to it and start communicating, instead, observe and 'listen'.

Kristina

You are right.  The biggest thing was that he shocked me so bad!  And I didn't go to him, he was shuffling up to me.  I panicked!  Anyway... I had an awesome experience this afternoon which makes the bad experience look like nothing!  I will post it now!

Hey Kristina,

I do not want to sound you too spooky, but I often have dreams of corpses in blood, body parts, meat, etc... and they are all actual premonitions of terrorist attacks (actually in Israel). These visions of corpses are completely blank from the point of view of feeling - I do not feel any fear when I see that, I just observed and they are so vivid that when I wake up I remember the whole thing. Then I write it down and within a day or two the terrorist attack happens (it is always an attack were many people die). So this might be a premonitory vision. It might be happening in your neighborhood or city, check the news... Do not fear, keep control of the fear and use your mind to decide what to do or even what to see and where to go in the astral and dream world. Even death is only a transition, and I have on occasions dreamed of some relatives before they "left". You should not be afraid. The only dream I would be afraid is if I am given a piece of raw meat in a dream, that would mean that I am to die or maybe a close relative has to... and even then I would see this as a transition. You can also invoke God or whoever you believe in while in the astral if you are in a panic, that should work too.

May the light be with you

What exactly were/are you afraid of?
Alice had got so much into the way of expecting nothing but out-of-the-way things to happen, that it seemed quite dull and stupid for life to go on in the common way.

Kristina

Whoa, creepy dreams Shaman!  I have a dear friend who also knows exactly when relatives are going to die.  I don't know that I would want that power!

All logic tells me I have no need to fear.  The corpse guy was not attacking me, and he didn't look mean, just lost (and ugh... bloody).  I think he had no idea where he was.  BUT... I think the trick is going to be, getting my conscious mind used to being STARTLED sometimes IN MY HOME by who knows what!  I think the startle factor is what I am reacting to most.  I have a new appreciation for kids wanting to sleep with a nightlight!  [:O]  The last time I was this creeped out was when my husband and I went to see "The Ring" (and that's the LAST scary movie I will ever go to, that's for sure!)(There's enough creepiness in the physical and astral worlds without having to recreate the creepiness on film!)  All that being said, I am doing better after having a couple of awesome travels after the dead guy one.  [:D]

WalkerInTheWoods

Sounds like you have it figured out then. Though I do not know if you can ever fully be over being startled, but with practice hopefully you (and the rest of us) will be able to recover more quickly and stay calm and in control.

Hey again Kristina,

It is not a "power", just an ability (that everyone probably has without noticing it) to "see" above the horizon. Call it a gift if you wish. It is true that it can be "power" when it is in the hands of someone if that someone decides to use it as a powerfull tool.

From all my dreams, and these days I remember most of them when I wake up every morning, the most disturbing one was not one where I saw corpses, because as I wrote I was just a "third" person looking down at that and it was not addressed to me. Even in another dream I saw 4 huge identical pieces of meat hanging and I passed them and that still was not addressed to me. Later on in that dream I approached a smaller piece of meat and was about to touch it when someone (old and quite bold) asked me if I was interested in these - I said no! And still that did not disturb me. Where it disturb me was for example a dream recently this week-end where someone was kind of holding me but was behind me and when I finally got to see his face, he had 4 eyes! two normal eyes (like everyone) and then one additional eye on each side of the head! That dream was slightly disturbing me, though it was not a nightmare.

The main question in a dream or in the astral realm is whether what you witness is addressed to you or not, more than whether it looks disgusting...

Have sweet dreams (I mean it!) and know that the power of your will can overcome any fear.

Whooo Hooo. Somebody who can manipulate and use energy on the astral/ethereal plane(s)!! Way to go.
One lesson here is that if you practice energy work during meditation in the physical then that skill will naturally 'carry over' in any super physical (OOB) dimension. [:)]

You might also want to think about whether this guy was a real individual or not. Often in the astral, fear can manifest in a number of ways. Often it can be personified in monsters/demons or other forms. Perhaps this 'dead guy' is actually a manifistation of your own fear, perhaps some fear you didnt know you had. btw watch holywood horror movies etc doesnt help as in the astral thought = action. If these things are on your mind whwn you project, then that is what you will find.
The problem is, someone forgot to tell everyone on the psychic defence forum. They are obsessed with 'negs' so 'negs' is just what they'll find, as fear takes on tangible forms when you project.

On the other hand, he may well be real, in which case you should just remember that he's no real threat. Forget what Holywood movies tell you about this!

Hi Kristina!
I want to share almost the same experience like you. Although this happened to me during the day. I was once sitting in my bedroom and heard the phone ringing and picked it up and heard a crying so clear. I asked who it was but the crying only continued. It was none of my friends and it couldn't have been another's people conversation because there was noone else on the phone. So I hang up and during the night I was woken up 3 times. I had the same dream. That there was a presence in my room. The last time I was woken up by shaking of my shoulder but there was noone there. i got so scared that I didn't go to bed again. And today I had an AP and there was someone in my room. He was laughing and pretending he wills sneeze. I got so scared. At the same time there was someone knocking at my door. This was the most frightful experience I ever had after that occasion with the ghost. I tried so hard to go back to my body and take control of myself and wake up which was hard but not impossible. Once I managed I did not go back to bed. It is so awaful to find dead people. Not that I think I might have seen them on the second event but it is highly possible to see some. However, I have a problem with fear as well and this is my greatest problem. It is not that easy to cope with it. The thing I did to get rid of the creature next to me that was laughing was to imagine a big powerful wave that will throw it away. Any suggestions or comments?

I think all astral adventurers sooner or later encounter something that will induce great fear. Allow yourself to feel this fear, it's natural. Examine why you are fearful. Embrace that which you fear with love. Realise all that you see are the many forms of God. See God in everything and you will find it very hard to fear or hate them. This is what love is, not some forced concept to fire at a being offensively.

The key is not to let that fear dwell in you for too long. Examine, embrace, release. :)

Kristina

Wow Vicky, geez, that is freaky!  I thought my encounter was freaky!  I have to admit that my experience has held me back a bit since it happened.  I'm really trying to be brave, but I'm also focusing intensely on raising my vibratory rate prior to each exit, and if it happens fast then I do it during the first few moments out.  I firmly request that I be in a higher astral level.

That being said, I do know that the dead kid had no malice toward me, he seemed lost.  But he STARTLED the bejesus out of me!!!

A few days after this, I encountered another ghost.  I left my body and my living room changed into a different house, and there he was, a young boy.  He had brown hair and white hazy eyes.  The fear kicked in, but at least I wasn't startled in my own hallway!  I mustered my courage and said "c-c-can I help you?"  His eyes cleared and were beautiful green.  He started rambling like an 8 year old would do, about nothing much.  I told him about seeing a scary ghost recently.  He interrupted me and said "oh yeah, well I've seen some REALLY scary stuff!  Like this one time..." and I stopped him and said "I don't think I want to know!"  Anyway he was a nice kid, and only wanted someone to talk to.  We chatted until he had to leave, apparently for some astral class he was taking.  I didn't find out how he died but it happened in 2000.  I should have asked him his name.

Fat_Turkey

Thanks for that Nahaz. I would only ever attack another entity if it attacked me. If it was just a freaky thing staring at me, I'll try to examine, embrace, and release it like you said.

That being said, I can't promise much. Never know when I'll create an aetheric sword or something to hack and slash at whatever the hell is freaking me out!!

Anyways, I am scared stiff of projecting or attempting projections at night because scary thoughts are always on my mind at night. So if I did attempt a projection and I felt those clammy hands grabbing at me, I would be so scared I'd probably crap and tinkle my pants!!

So my advice is, project during the day until you get your confidence back up.

No amount of rigorous training, sitting and doing nothing, and clearing one's mind can help a man who hasn't overcome his doubts.

I had a few scary ones too, at least the first ones...

The first one was like that: I suddenly wake up because I hear my door opening...  I was entirely under my blanket.  I started wondering why would my mother come in in the middle of the night...?  Suddenly, I feel something jump on the other end of my bed and begin to crawl towards me!!  [:O]  Of course, I begin to panick and wake up in the exact same position!  It took me quite a few seconds to make the "dream"/reality seperation!  And took me an hour to go back to sleep...  [:D]

The next one was almost the same except that I "woke up" as something jumped on my feet and crawled on my body towards my head.  When it got to my head, I began to "Grrrgrrgrr" [;)] as the thing was doing something on my forehead.  After a few seconds, I just decided to go somewhere else so I poped out of my body and "traveled" for a few seconds and then woke up.  I tend to "escape" quite often but the damn things know it and they hurry to grab me...  And when they grab me, my
"focus" is constantly "magneticaly" brought back to them.  And sometimes they follow me too.

I had many others, but now I manage to stay calm and just observe...  It helps a lot that I cannot see anything!  I "feel" them...  I had a dancing skeleton arm that was playing drums on my chest [;)].  When I grabbed it, I found myself in my old bedroom and the arm shapeshifted into a ferret that ran away and jumped into my trash, scared.  I also got a nice and strong lady (I prefer to imagine it was a woman [:D]) that did some naughty things to me.  Etc...

But, even if I manage to avoid the surprise/startling effect and fear, it is still annoying to get attacked all the time (90% of the time for me)...  [B)]  I had some very nice experience that got screwed by the appearance of one of these [xx(]...  And, they go after my weaknesses: bite the left side of my neck from behind (paralyses me and makes me weak), try to reach between my legs with their hands (over-sensitive here [;)]) or put there hands on both sides of my ribcages and send me some "jolts" (very displeasing).  In fact, the first time one used these jolts was "funny".  I was at home and got attacked by a guy with bloody eyes.  I panicked a bit and attacked him with laser beams, ray of lights, an axe... [:D]  Of course, all useless.  He suddenly put his hands on my ribcages and jolt me.  I blackout and then find myself in another room.  I go back where he was and I see him walking upstairs.  He turned his head and waved at me, meaning see you soon.  I wake up a little bit stressed, get busy for like an hour and then go back to sleep.  And here I am, in my (dream) bedroom.  And who's there?  The guy, waiting for me!!! [;)]  He starts again is game of jolting me but this time I just stay calm, but slightly annoyed.  He realises that I don't react anymore, so he stops and act like "Beetle Juice" and play tricks on other people...

But, as I said in another thread, I just see these things like I would see a wolf running after a lost deer...  They are just hungry for energy.  [B)]

Hi Kristina,

Your encounters were very interesting!  I'm curious though, he asked you "you comin?"  What did he want to show you?

The poor child too.  He sounded lost.  If you see him again, please ask him if he wants to see his family again and escort him to the Light.  I think that's what he needed.

Kristina

Hi guys & gals,

I've been into AP for three and a half years now, with increasing success.  Lately I've been using some new meditation tapes and I've been able to leave my body every day for about a month now. But I had a bad experience Thursday morning and it is setting me back a bit. I exited my body, left my bedroom and turned left toward the living room, like usual. A voice from behind me said "you comin'?" This took me totally by surprise. I turned around and at the end of the hallway was a dead guy. He was young, around 20, black, very dark skin, with spiky hair (like mini dreadlocks), wearing black levi jeans, black Reebok sneakers, and a red t-shirt covered in blood. He looked like a gang banger who had maybe been murdered. His expression was totally vacant. He was right there, in my hallway, and he was as real as any other person standing there would be. I can still hear his voice now as I type this. He scared the bejesus out of me!!! (whatever bejesus is!) He began shuffling toward me. I apparently had projected into the lower astral realm. Luckily my friend had given me a very valuable tip just the day before. She told me that a terrific way to protect yourself is to create a diversion, something moving and attention-getting. So I created (first time ever) a "psi ball" of bright glowing multicolored light. I launched it at the guy. It whizzed past him down the hallway, and thank God he turned and started shuffling in the opposite direction, toward the ball. This method works, it is awesome! I continued through the house and went out the door, and the adventure became dreamlike. I quickly popped back into my body but I was too scared to try again. The worst part is, the more I think about it the more scared I get. He was SO REAL, not dreamlike at all. I could see, hear, and even feel his presence so clearly. Last night I couldn't even sleep. I keep thinking he is in my house. What if next time I leave my body, he's right in my face?  I've got to get ahold of my fear!  But I'm not sure how.  How can you ever get used to seeing bloody dead people???  My friend tells me I've reached an important stage, now that I can project pretty much at will... but she says this will be a sort of trial by fire. She said to get used to it, that I'll be seeing a lot of scary stuff now. Isn't that lovely? Just thought I'd share. There are so few people I can talk to about this.

Anyone have any good, practical suggestions on how to control fear in this situation? I've never been afraid like this before. Now I'm worried that fear will stop my progress in projecting, which is the last thing I want after all this work (three years). I just had no idea that seeing something like this could be so shocking.
