During sleep paralysis, as usual, I was tired from the night before and was basically primed. I relaxed, counted by heartbeats, pushed my thoughts aside, used a mantra and all thought closed in onto on point of consciousnesses. I decided to keep my mind active by using the speed clock technique and it became faster and faster and all of a sudden, all my senses seemed to vanish. It was just me and I let my dream state go wild, but kept it stable. I was soon imagining and visualizing that I was at school being chased by a large snake. I was drifting off into almost an entire sleep but I stopped that thought and pulled everything back to that point of consciousness.

There is a particular bird in our school; and I think it's marsh bird. While my thoughts were stable, I heard the bird tweeting from a distance from my eardrum. I continued to stay calm and it was as these beats played in my ear. The sound somehow made me think of ocean waves because of the pulsing sound. I became more and more aware of my surroundings and rolled over to fall asleep.

Nice practice.

Those noises should be incorporated.

A really informal explanation of the way it goes is.

You lay there, still, for a long time. Your body shuts off.

You start visualizing. You get lost. Snap back. Repeat x 15/big number.

Random events start getting pushed into your vislauzations. Accept them. Allow them too enhance.

Noises start occuring. ACCEPT THEM, allow them to enhance visualization. Tailor the experience to whatever you sense, no matter how random.

You totally lose track of the phsyical and totally forget whatever is happening.

If you preparation was well enough, you'll lucid dream/project/some disjointed combination.

So...
the noises are a good sign  :-D. Well played.

Cheers,
Contenteo

I do something like this while I'm on the train.
I "latch" onto a reoccurring noise happening somewhere in the train car and use it as Contenteo has mentioned above.
It's a great way to use the sounds around you as a catalyst to experience the non-physical.

Hi,
During phaseing this morning I heard and saw the usual things then a sound occurred from somewhere which at first was a low buzzing noise. It was constant in volume and frequency. It didn't falter as other sounds and visualisations came and went. Rather than exit the physical I played with this tone.
Increasing my awareness on it, a mountain scene stayed with me. Ok with this backdrop I increased its volume and started to up the frequency. It was much harder than the 2stroke engine sound and the sound wasn't far off a sine wave, this being a first of this purity of tone to date.
After a while it was that high in frequency it was disdapearing out of range. I realised this as a physical limitation.Big mistake, physical thoughts, thoughts=action and I was awake.
After many years of projecting I still slip up with this.
Thinking what a waste, I got out of bed.
These sounds can be used the same as the visualised images, its just placing the intent to go to a location where what you're listening to is natural for it.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

I have been able to start hearing things more often since I have been practicing. One night I heard a laser sound like in Star Wars. Kinda weird. The rest sound like voices.
