What is everyone's environment when they attempt to Astralize?

Music? Small Lights on? Complete Silence? Bed/Couch? pillow/no pillow? Etc...

I think our answers will be an interesting conversation.

bed, silence, mindfold, mid-afternoon.

-oh yea, i use crystals sometimes as well.
be awesome.

I try to switch it up.

-Lying down quietly in my bedroom.
-Sitting on the couch with the tv on.
-Reclining on the couch with various noise going on.
-At my desk at lunch while at work.

Try not to get used to anything.  Keep changing it up so you learn to adapt to all situations.

I don't think my environment matters nearly as much as the state I'm in.  Relaxed with nothing pressing in the near future, really tired in the mid afternoon.  If I just fling myself on my bed like that chances are I will spontaneously project.  I try not to put too much importance on what's around me, after all, it's what's inside the mind that matters.

If I want a guaranteed conscious experience I wake up in the middle of the night, wait about a half hour, maybe toke a bit, meditate for 10-30 minutes with hemisync on my ipod, and fall asleep into vibrational sleep paralysis.

all except the last one - the sofa while at work.

I 'recommend' public transport or any droning engine is great. I have always had amazing experiences on and around long distance plane journeys. I think this is because of the unusual environment and messed up sleep pattern. There is a wonderful sweet spot during plane journeys.. a bliss feeling when its traveling at night and you can only hear the hiss of the engines and slight tinny noises of music playing on headphones... there is also a perfect ambient light.

Experiences during holidays in other countries are always diverse and absolutely different in content and sensation. Probably because of the cavalcade of new information I've gathered during the stay or maybe there are more exotic reasons.

Car rides put me in a wonderful state when I was little.  Sadly though I don't get car rides any more being 23.

I think it's because the experience is completely new.  Anything you experience for the first time you experience much more lucidly because your mind isn't getting in the way.

Totally...

Bed, pillow, night, silence, a certain mysterious atmosphere, and a relaxed mind.  :-)

A nap on Sunday alone is the best for me.
No one wakes me up, and no need to worry about getting up early next morning!!  :-D
I'm a guitarist, I love metal music, and I can riff like a crazy machine.

My ideal environments aren't really a possibility so I just visualize myself there when I meditate. Who cares about the noisy refrigerator when you're on a mountaintop in Nepal?

Simo

Dark room comfy bed,and leaving my phone charger near my bed so I can listen to It's noise(it the same buzzing noise like the one in our ears when we are in quiet environment)I listen it for few minutes and I end up somewhere away from my home :D :-P

Rather, then start a new thread, I figured I'd put this here.

Yeah, I can totally agree with it not mattering. Last night I finally gave binaural noise a try(I wasn't using it because I am one of those people who would rather take the hard road, and feel better about themselves later)

Anyway, Holy $hi7!

All those distractions are pretty much annihilated. A good hour into it, I heard the whoosh(lol thats totally the only way top describe it, i know what ya'll mean now) And was being pulled right out the top of me. (Frank was totally on with his Crown chakra comment) I felt my astral body sit up and then tries to open my eyes, only to realize I was just sitting up in bed. I acted too early and screwed it up. Ha!

Anyway, not to deviate from the thread.

Anyone find a small light useful, just to tell if you are in the RTZ?
I havn't been there, but I could imagine it my be useful.

(To any newcomers, practice by yourself before resorting to the binaural noise, You gotta explore your consciousness before turning on the GPS, or you will not know where you are if you get lost in there. Think about learning the layout of a new town. Its pretty much the same concept. You'll always have to resort to the GPS. I could imagine it being very frustrating starting off with the noise without understanding the basics.)

Bedeekin

I usually advise putting some sort of light on in the room so sharp shadows are eliminated. Opening physical eyes during the phase state can be a distraction because of a tendency for shadows to merge into figures etc. I still fall fowl of SP hallucinations if the room is too dark.

Contenteo

I had a feeling it might help, I'll throw one on the far side of the room. See if that helps out.

thx bed

I've got a question for you-I've never projected with the help of binaurals-most of them contain background sounds that seem to change drastically in a moment scaring the S**t out of me,so let me ask once you're out of your body, can you still hear the beats you were listening to in bed?Just curious

I don't know.

I got the furthest I ever have gotten was last night. I can tell you that I really wasn't paying attention to the tones all that much once I was phasing. I was just tactfully visualizing all sorts of fun stuff and reciting tunes in my head and "Whooosh" (thats actually like the only way to describe it, i was skeptical as hell when I heard it counded like that and was quick) I was pulled right out the top of my bod.

It all happened so quick. There is no way to mistake the feeling.

Personally, I assume you won't hear the noise on the other side, because you are focused somewhere completely else. And even if you would, it is a simply drone that is keeping your brainwaves stable, why wouldn't you want it.

If you want vibes though...oh boy...listen to the 4hz differential for a bit and as soon as you take those puppies out of your ears...back way on up...your body is covered in them. I mean covered. Like you just came out of a gosh darn vibrations fondue pot.

Anyway, all those mainstream ones got that corny background rain/storm crap and some creeper talkin' to you. If I wanted that, I would have just slept out with the town hobos next time a strom came a brewin'. Would be the same effect.

So, I searched around to find a beat I liked. Wouldn't ya know it that after all the googling it was Xanth's tune that I ended up with. Its really straight forward brown noise. Kinda sounds like you are on an airplane. Very functional.

Here's a link.

So, thank's Xanth! & Best Travels to you Simo.

I am excited because in a couple hours i get to give it round 2  :-D

Cheers,
