After last night, i can count a handful of times in the past couple of years where i thought i had projected but then woke up to see it was a dream. This is how my experience specifically went last night:
The past few nights i have woken up around 5 a.m. and could not fall back asleep until 7 a.m. I usually don't do this, i think it has something to do with trying to learn to wake myself up again and attempt to project. I thought about attempting to project this time, and decided to just try to fall asleep and catch myself at the last second and attempt to leave my body. I have not had any luck projecting while in a waking state and I've attempted for quite some time now. I end up getting frustrated and going to bed. So i was laying there and i felt myself falling asleep. I then got up in the dream and thought that i had projected for the first minute. I saw my brother and he was chasing me. I gently woke up and decided it had been a dream. I drifted off again. This time i felt myself looking up at the ceiling in my astral body. I tried the rolling over technique to leave my body and even the rope technique but i felt paralyzed. Everything was blurry like i was still dreaming. I drifted off into another dream where i again got up thinking i had projected for a short time, then woke up and realized i had not.
This seems to keep happening to me, and I'm not sure how to stop it. I am have practiced lucid dreaming and am usually successful so i don't think that's the problem. I feel so close to projecting-it is frustrating.
Im shure, that you had OBEs. You left the physical body and lived your "dreams" out of your body. This was a "chain" of OBEs. Your chain was a very typical chain. They can consist of more than 10 OBEs in a row.
Chains can only be broken if one wakes really up and stays awake and stands up for some minutes. But i would not break such a chain. These are rare opportunities to learn and experience many things in a short time.

Maybe you should think and read again about the definition of the border between lucid dreams and OBEs. When one gots chains and LDs, then one got also OBEs. Im not shure about, but perhaps do you confuse some OBEs with LDs. Many german Lucid dreamers call many OBEs just LDs. Mainly because they are not knowing about that the astral world differs mostly at least a bit from the real world. Other Lucid dreamers here in germany do not believe in OBEs and call them simply also LD, what makes the confusion perfect.
I actually thought about you said right after i woke up. Maybe it just seemed blurry because i don't remember it clearly. I remember my vision blacking out during the phase and trying to rub and blow on my hands. It kind of worked, but i couldn't hold the experience for too long. Think you for the insight.
Out of Body experiences are often a bit blurry, particulary on the beginning. Some of them begin even with a complete blackness or small spots of view. The view is then getting better during the experience. But sometimes it can take a half minute or even more till the view is good.
