Taking the stage

I had an unbelievably hard time sleeping last night and I didnt fall totally asleep until 7am (thank god I didnt have to get up until 1pm) and as I drifted to sleep I managed to hang onto the process very well and slipped into a large auditorium setting.  A wierd metal band was playing and I sort of sat off to the side watching and listening, slowly gaining more and more lucidity.  I started to slowly get into the music, bobbing my head and smiling as I watched these bands play that I have never heard before and marveling at how my mind managed to come up with all of this stuff when I cant write a song to save my life lately.  I took note of the songs and their progression, trying to remember them enough to use some of the parts for my own songs.

The first 2 bands seemed to blur together, only playing for a couple minutes each and I dont remember the first band leaving the stage at all.  The third band helped the second band pack up and as the third band set up I walked into the front row and stood in front of the band.  I looked behind me and there appeared to be no one here but me and the bands.  Just how I always wanted it!     I love a good metal show with lots of crazy wild people but I always wanted to just have my fav bands play for me only once and I was getting one of my wildest dreams fulfilled, except I didnt know who any of these people were!

The band eyed me strangely as they plugged in and prepared to play.  It was half "where did this guy come from" and half "we better perform good because this guys important" kind of looks.  They began their first song and my lucidity went through the roof.  I was flooded with intense euphoric waves of energy and I started thrashing about wildly, sort of... well... self moshing and rocking out.  The song had a long intro and began to build up faster and heavier and I anticipated the moment of take off, which I also figured would be accompanied by a mind splitting throat shredding scream by the singer.

I leaped head long onto the stage, grabbed the mic and screamed so hard I probably would have started to bleed in real life.  I had been right and the singer and I screamed in unison, creating a hellish harmonization that would have made the devil himself proud.  The singer smiled broadly and continued gutturally spraying vocals over the thrashing machine gun beat of the song. The sound of the music and now the fact I was participating as well began to get to me, it was so full and rich, so lifelike and real I started to loose my grip on it all and float back to F1 due to over stimulation, much like a sexual F2 experience does for me.

I woke up laughing, smiling broadly.  It was great.  hope to get back in touch with them and jam again!  I would love to have F2 jam partners, would help my music writing a lot!  I dont know too many musicians who write music in their sleep.
