I am curious as to whether people see the akashic records as a literal place or just somewhere inside there consciousness where they can access information. Everyone sees it a little different right? I had an experience that made sense to me, and i know we don't always see the astral realm the same.

Well anyways, i woke up early morning and it took awhile for me to go back to sleep. I planned on projecting right as i "switched over". My intent was to go to the akashic records for some answers about my life as I have been very confused about my relationships and where i am going with my education. When i felt my state change, everything was complete black and went i finally came to focus i was standing in a small simple hallway of a house. There were about five or six door ways and each had these labels and scribbles near the handle. I had to concentrate and squint really hard to read what it was. One door was labeled dreams or wishes or something. I walked in, it looked sort of like a room in my grandmother's house. There were tons of picture frames lined up of my family and friends. I was pleased about this answer.
I went into another door that was for my fate. There were these new articles about me dying, it didn't really say how. Apparently I had killed my friend and a week later was found dead. I see this more as symbolism and not literal...of course.
The third door I walked in was labeled "lies" I walked in and it was just a big mess. Blankets and pillows and random things were all upside down.  I am not a big liar,  I actually can't stand lieing, but I understood this room represented my negativity I hold on certain things.
I remember seeing another room where all of my childhood toys and things were in. I was really amused by this, it was very detailed and I remember everything I focused on being from when I was younger. The last door I went in I wanted to see the fate of my son. When I opened it there was nothing. Everything was white and clean, no furniture, just emptiness. I quickly closed this door, realizing that it was not my place and maybe impossible to look inside his consciousness.

Usually when we "ask" for something when we project, you won't get it in the manner which you think you'll get it.  If you're asking to visit the akashic records, it will never be that literal.  You won't project and "BAM!" you'll be at some place with a big lighted sign over it saying "AKASHIC RECORDS, THIS WAY!".  It's all subjective.

Your experience could very well be the answer you were looking for.  It might not have been "THE" akashic records, but you did seem to get an answer to your reply.

And I also believe you're 100% correct in thinking what you say shouldn't be interpreted EXACTLY or LITERALLY as you experienced it.  You need to mull over what you experienced and see how it reflects upon you... which it seems like you have to some degree already.  Take note of the symbolism you experienced/saw and reflect further on them and what they mean to you.  :)

Sounds good! but I agree our experiences are subjective. I expect if we asked lots of people who had been to the Akashik records then im sure there would be lots of differences.
I traveled to a building on top of a mountain once and found the Akashik records. I wasn't looking for it and didn't expect it  :-o. There was an infinite number of books! as you might imagine..which surprised me as I didn't expect it to be an actual library, but its probably something deep in my subconscious.
I met a really nice lady there called Judy who seemed to know me and showed me around. I haven't a clue how she knew me lol.

Edgar Cayce stated that he saw the Akashic Records as books and added that he thought this merely to be due to his own expectations as seeing books as repositories of knowledge. Maybe future generations will view the akashic records as a screen with Google at the top. He said that he was sometimes handed the relevant books or information by some old guy with white hair, presumably another icon of wisdom for him.

To me these are one and the same, which also to me explains why there are so many different experiences out there. Just because something happens in your head doesn't make it any more or less of a "literal place" or "real" than the reality you experience around you now. Just my thoughts on the matter  :-)
You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. Perhaps some day you'll join us, and the world will live as one.

xanth, and everyone i suppose, i agree on how not everyones akashic records is going to be the same, but (havent been but assuming from the post) how come the astral pulse island is a place you can go like "bam, astral pulse island." not a sign mabey, but the island is basically representing itself so its similar. Is the island different to others?

Your way is The way

That is a good question. Maybe because everyone was told to study a picture of the island and that is what they associate it with it. I definitely wouldn't doubt that each traveler butt his/her own "touch" to it that others don't see.

Astral Pulse Island won't look the same to everyone.
You'll go to an Island which you recognize as it.  You'll perceive it in your own way... just like you do the Akashic Records.

Maybe now if no one "holding" it, but originally API was intended to be in an area of consciousness (F3) which should appear similar to everyone, not like an F2 environment, which I'm sure some people have mistakenly targeted, including myself.
