I started by asking my guides and my higher self for help, and then I
focused my intent on separating. This was just the warm-up meditation, but as soon as I sit down I had the urge to spin around and as soon as I did and stopped facing the other way my nonphysical form started turing back, and next thing I know I was looking at the computer screen. It was a bit confusing because I abruptly spun around as per my impulse (which may have been a message from a guide) and wondered if I actually spun around, or was still sitting facing my computer screen and seeing through my eyelids which were seeping open as they can do sometimes. I thought about this for a few moments, thinking about which was I was facing, and then in an instant I was swung back around, as I wanted to know which way my physical body really was and willed to be back.
The next time I was less surprised and as my nonphysical body started
spinning to the left I latched onto it and manually spun the rest of
the way. It felt just like I was sitting in my chair, like I was in an invisible one. I could still feel the blanket on my feet, as when I spun around I placed my feet under my blanket lying on the floor.
The third time I spun around the same way and was intend to do this
that time, but was unsuccessful at nonphysically standing up. I
experiment with this more. [:)]

It sounds that you had a partial projection where your astral/ethereal body moved out of alignmnet with your physical body. Something very similar to that happened to me a few years ago. I was practicing a projection technique included in a book by D Scott Rogo. It was called 'Vortex Exit' and the idea was to spin the astral/ethereal body around inside the physical body. Of course it is a mental exercise. It did work to a degree but I became so dizzy that I had to stop before getting completely out of body. [:)]
Hey all.
For two days last week I experienced the 'turn around.' I would sit down in my office chair facing toward my computer as usual, and then turn around to face the opposite direction (My chair has the swivel spin thing.), and my nonphysical self would turn to face back toward my computer. Then I was able to help it spin all the way, or turn and situate myself to face the computer, and I'd feel myself sitting down as if I was sitting in my chair, but facing the opposite direction of the chair and my physical body.
The third time I tried standing but it seems I'll have to get the knack of this method of separating.
