Lucid Dream/Astral meditation of flowers and opera

I was in a dream in some building and at some point simply thought of the word "Astral".  This was all I needed and became fully conscious.  I started walking around and looking intently at everything feeling how solid everything was and how it seemed identical to the Physical. I went down a hallway and went outside onto the top of the building onto the roof.  I tried putting my hand through the ground and it didn't work. I thought of jumping off of the building to gain speed and sort of phase into some other Astral Locale but I sort of got scared.....  I also tried flying by "stretching out" and thinking of myself as already being the 20 ft. away I was trying to get to, this didn't work either.  I thought that if I kept thinking of "stretching out", I would wake back up into the physical, so I sat down Indian style on the ground.

I preceded to sit on the ground and try to draw energy, still thinking in Physical terms of breathing in thru the nose, pores, and out through the mouth.  Amazingly as I began, I heard operatic/classical type music all around me and flowers of yellow, white and purple started blooming in mid air and forming onto branches.  I managed to reach out and grab a flower while drawing energy.  I had the best possible feeling of happiness and  contentment imaginable. I had a sort of giddy smile on my face the whole time as the experience was wonderful!

I find it interesting that I had this experience when I did, as it was after a night of drinking, which usually brings on incoherent, violent, non consciousness awareness dreams.

That sounds like a beautiful moment.

Was your emotional state different perhaps?  Were you calmer when you went to bed?  It may have had little to do with drinking and more about your feelings, possibly?  Just a thought.

Thanks for sharing such a great experience.

Hi Sarah,

"Was your emotional state different perhaps? Were you calmer when you went to bed? It may have had little to do with drinking and more about your feelings, possibly? Just a thought."

Actually I wasn't calmer, I was more hyped up.  I had gone stomping around an Industrial club and was wound up when I got home.  So usually the dreams reflect the equally incoherent state of consciousness at that time, but this time was different.  Usually most every other day, I am calm and try to be as conscious as possible and its easier to have more experiences.

Nevertheless, it was a great experience and I yearn for more like that. :)

Perhaps less stomping around industrial clubs then...

Don't worry, I'm not having a go - I used to work in a goth nightclub and LOVED it!!!

For some people their emotional state in the physical has a huge impact in their lucid dreams/projections/phasing. Others seem to completely separate themselves from the emotional state they had in the physical.

There seems to be no hard and fast rule. Is it simply a matter of the level of ones emotional control? Or is it something else that determines the impact your state in the physical will have on your nether adventures?

I for one only WISH I had the ability to separate my mind from all worries and emotional turmoil....

Hmmm....
