Title: "Torn" out of astral travel... and the pain that comes with it.
Post by: Seventy7 on December 04, 2010, 23:08:35
It all started tonight when I was projecting. I had finally projected and began to travel among the plane. My lover (who is long distance) is usually the person I travel to. She had fallen asleep on skype, and I was well on my way, I had decided to travel to her, which went swimmingly...

Until her phone went off and startled the crud out of me... I was so close to her, and so far away from my body that I was torn (for the lack of a better word) from projection, or perhaps snapped out of it? Anyway, from being taken away so quickly, I felt every major chakra just surge in pain. It took the wind out of me for sure, and it took me about ten minutes to recover from the pain.

I was reminded of when I was projecting at a younger age when my parents were still waking me up every day to go to school, I had experienced a similar pain when my parents woke me up in the middle of travel or just plain projection, but it usually centered around my heart and throat as opposed to every point...

Why were the pains different?
Has anyone else experienced being torn/snapped out of projection/travel? Did it hurt when it happened?

How would you describe this pain? Where was it centered around?

My impression is that underdeveloped non-physical bodies may produce pain in the physical body. I think this will disappear after some time when the non-physical body has developed more. For example Peterson has described pain on OBE.

I've had pain in my astral body on multiple occasions but I don't that pain has ever transferred in a "physical" way to my physical body. Only emotional shock and temporary trauma follow me back to my body.

I would so love to be able to use AP as a way to visit my girlfriend when I can't see her.  I'm living with her now in Hong Kong but when I come back to the states to finish my degree I won't be able to see her for a while.  Wanting to see the rest of my family back in the States now and wanting to be able to come visit my girlfriend when I'm back over there are some of the major reasons I've starting practicing again but I still haven't gotten the hang of it yet, not to a useful degree anyway.  But regarding your post, I've never had any pain.  I get snapped back when I'm lucid pretty often but never with any pain.

It centered around my heart (which had a dropping sensation), my throat (Which had a strong, throbbing sensation), My forehead (felt like a headache), my stomach (which had a strong, throbbing sensation as well) and my genitals (felt like menstrual cramps) I feel this immediately upon awakening. It makes me quite grumpy lol.

It looks like your energy body reacted to the sudden shock. That's all. Nothing to worry about.
This happens during waking state too, in situations of fear or extreme sadness. The heart center becomes so heavy that some people can't stand up.

You felt it in all centers, may be because you have attained that level of sensitivity. I've had such experiences when I was snapped back with a jerk and it was not painful but had extreme sensations in heart and throat etc.

If you wish to avoid this, practice maintaining clam during a projection, not expecting anything, but completely aware like a hunter. Nothing will distract you when you master this state of mind.
