Hi,im pretty experienced with meditation and trance states and have been doing these for about 2 years now, but i have been having trouble getting into the vibrations. I get my body very relaxed where in feel really light or sometimes really heavy, but i cant seem to get the vibrations. Does anybody have any tips for initiating them, or any early signs of them starting. I have experienced energy flows and open chakras when i 1st started meditating, but havent had any lately.
Any tips would be very much appreciated.
Vibrations are not something that happens to everybody- they are the byproduct of your conscious awareness moving from the in-body to the out of body state, and when the transition is 'strange' to the human brain, there is all that 'noisy' feedback. But some people never have vibrations, because their transitions are very smooth, and others (like me) get them in the beginning when they learn to project aware, and stop getting them after the 'novelty' has worn off- the brain gets used to it and there is no 'trauma'- so other things may be felt, such as 'floatiness' a feeling of movement or disorientation, instead of the 'buzzing' vibrations.
So instead of trying to 'get' vibrations, you might want to achieve a deep trance state and look for changes in your awareness, like astral vision, or hypnagogics, or just 'weirdness' in your thinking. All these can be considered signposts, besides vibrations.
Thanks cft traveler. I am very very familiar with the hynagogic state. I am prescribed to medication that disrupts my rem sleep so i experience hypangogic imagery and hallucinations(neologisms, or made up words) everytime i go to sleep. I also experience sleep paralysis about once a week, in which I have been succesfull in getting an astral arm out. Maybe my brain is already used to it? (I have had it for 4 years now and savor each experience) The problem with this is I dont have it happen enough for me to really practice my skills.Thankyou
Hi astralcow. :-D
I only experience vibrations in the hypnogogic state and they are nothing like described by most - they are very subtle.
Also, when I project from the hypnopompic state (nearly 100% of the time) I never, ever get vibrations, yet still have successful projections. So don't get too hung up on the vibrations, they're not a necessity when it comes to OBEs, just a common side-effect. :-)

Yeah the vibrations is not a neccesity to projection and they are more a like a tingling sensation than electrical shockwaves. You do not have to feel them to project
Hi, metaphysically born. When you siad that the vibrations are not a essential part of projection, does that mean that youre body doesnt have to be paralyzed or completely asleep?? So when in a trance state and fully relaxed, i can use a seperation technique to seperate without the vibrations or paralysis??
I have been told by more than a couple people that my primary energy centers [chakras] are very bright / strong. After spending about an hour raising my energy to the max, all 7 chakras vibrate with an unbelievable force that sometimes feels like my entire body is shaking apart. Which leads me to believe that the level of vibrations the individual 'feels', is related to how powerful their chakra system is.
