Sounds like a radio on in the next room when I'm trying to fall asleep.

I'm pretty sure it's not the first time, but the first time I've experienced this in a long time.  I was trying to fall asleep, but was well aware that I was still awake and conscious when I heard sounds playing softly.  It sounded to me like really garbled talk radio playing in the distance.  I couldn't specifically make out any distinct words, phrases or speakers.  It was incredibly annoying and it started bothering me as I rose to look for an alarm clock radio that may have somehow been on in another room.  After my brief search there was nothing and as I rose to go looking the sounds stopped.  I didn't really try to interact with the voices, I just got a little ticked and moved to a different location to go to sleep.

I've been poking around on the net and some people are talking about it's the dead trying to contact you and other are saying it smacks of schizophrenia.  I'm fairly certain that I'm not schizophrenic, although I do occasionally have an overactive internal monologue.  I'm almost 30 and I would assume any clairvoyant abilities would have manifested a long time ago.  So, I'm turning to the collective knowledge of the Astral pulse for some sort of answer or guidance as to how to proceed should this happen again.

Thanks in advance for whatever wisdom I receive.

Its normal to hear sounds/voices in hypnagogic state.

You must have had a longer than normal.

Yep, hypnogogic. For some reason, the sound of a radio is very common in this state. I've experienced the radio many times. It's hard to make any sense out of it though...

Definately hypnagogic state. Some people report hearing cell phone conversations, even airplane radio transmission. I a lot of time hear static and crackling and even hemi-sync tones. And it is possible to become clairvoyent later in life. We're all bore with the 6th sense we just have to learn how to use it again.

I know some have mentioned hypnogogic state but, I have actually heard the "radio" while just trying to fall asleep, albeit in a very rested state. I am very conscious of the fact that I'm hearing something. A most unusual phenomena but evidently, a common one as well.

There are psychic incidences of hearing voices as our vibrational state began to transition to the spiritual side in preparation for dreaming and of course the hypnogogic sounds are prevalent for some.  If it is spiritual it can indicate a transition for you that is occurring for many reasons.
