When I was a child, maybe five, I would see things. No, not some I see dead people, or ghost s kind of deal. I would lay in bed at night, and see red dots on the ceiling. Plain and simply, little red dots. They didn't drip, or run like blood or anything like that. Just dots. And when I would close my eyes, I would see pictures. Random images. People, things, and one time a machine with glowing blue lights. The only "creepy" thing I ever saw with my eyes closed, that I remember, is a skull staring back at me. Let me say this, I had never seen any of these things before. I didn't know what a skull was, I didn't know who these people were, I didn't know what a machine was.

And last but not least, when I saw this machine, it was as if I could move around behind my eyes. I could move around it.

I've been concerned about this for a long time, and I really hope I can find some answers through this board. Thanks.

(Please don't call it alien abduction. I just realized how much it sounds like that kind of experience.)

It sounds like Alien Abduction.

:-D

Seriously.. it sounds like you were playing around with the imagery that precedes nonphysical exploration. It's part of a visualisation process called noticing and is what most strive for. The next thing is to continue passively observing the 'visions' and to figuratively step inside them... or integrate yourself into them.

Have a read of this...

This may give you some clues. :)

Edit: It only happened when I was a child, and it didn't happen for very long. I haven't experienced anything like it since.

I think children are very good at visualization. As adults we gotta work more at it.

I remember seeing a dragon floating above my bed once, among other cases. I knew I was awake, but my mind placed it in the world. It would happen sometimes after waking up, sometimes from a nightmare. I would have to blink repeatedly for it to go away. The scariest was once my floor was covered in hands and they were all reaching out to me.

It keeps not letting me edit my previous post! It had suddenly stopped letting me type! >_>

Well, I wanted to add a bit more, sorry for the double post.

What I wanted to say is that this is probably more common than we let on. Think of all the times parents say "It's just your imagination! Go to bed!" Well, in a way, maybe :) I mean, looking back now, I honestly don't think an etherial dragon came to visit in my bedroom and started billowing smoke and fire all over the place. Thinking back, that was on Christmas and I had been trying my best to stay awake to see if I heard santa. Who says that in my tired state, I created the visualization? Interesting, nonetheless.

I just tried to project, like right after my last post, but I was too tired so I immediately fell asleep.

What about those of us who can't remember our dreams? We go to sleep, we wake up. It is very, very rare that I remember what I've dreamed about. I can't even remember pieces. When I do have dreams, I dream about people I've never met. And I'll be aware that it's a dream, and try to remember every name I can in case they exist so I can look them up when I wake. But, I always forget their names. The only name I've ever remembered from a dream was the last name Clifford, this was like last month. And it's probably just because I used to love Clifford the Big Red Dog when I was little.

Edit: It makes me very sad, because the last dream I remember consisted of me waking up to check my cellphone for updates on my craigslist listings. And when I woke up for real, I didn't have a single notification. But what bothers me is the lack of creativity in my dreams. When I was little I dreamed of amazing things. Colorful lights, and cities, and creatures, and worlds that were just fascinating. But now I'm only lucky enough to dream about everyday tasks?

Names are probably one of the hardest things to remember, so don't feel distraught. There are several topics on here that talk about ways to help improve dream recall. Here's a recent one:

However I'm sure that if you poke around you will find much more information. A lot of it has to do with the desire and intention of wanting to remember. A lot of people find that if they casually think about it throughout the day, the desire will transfer into the subconscious and help improve dream memory. It's pretty unanimous that a dream journal is pretty invaluable. Enjoy yourself :)

I still fall asleep when not intending to... I have the best luck in the mornings.

Thanks for all the responses! I really enjoy this topic. Because, unlike so many other things, it's real. Being able to do all this, is real. We're not talking about conjuring demons, and vampires. I feel like just learning more about this sort of stuff is enough to awaken my imagination. Because it's something I can wholeheartedly believe in.

Just a funny note on that. I remember when I was little I would go to sleep every night watching cartoons. And no matter how hard I tried and wished, I never got to have a dream where I was Wile E. Coyote, falling off of cliffs, and chasing after roadrunner.

It also happens with me many times when I was a child. But I always use to avoid it because I didn't know about it more.
