Recently I've been overwhelmed with excitement at the thought of trying to AP again, I've only ever had one successful conscious attempt that left me feeling perturbed after i realized I'd actually projected the morning after. This was two years ago, and my efforts ceased shortly after because of employment and basically having too much on my plate.

I want to get into this again, I've briefly tried this past couple of nights but to no avail as i don't believe i was trying hard enough to keep my mind focused, I've experienced a physical numbness and shortly after i doze off.

My last experience (two years ago) was very peculiar, I remember trying my usual relaxation hypnogogic techniques and then basically fading out, I don't remember anything after that until i became conscious of the street light outside reflecting off a monopoly board game. It was then i half realized i'd been succesful, I looked below me and saw the silhouette of me inside my bed. I didn't move anywhere, and snapped back shortly after.

Could you possibly inform me of some good mental techniques to keep my mind focused on this? as i'd really like to experience this again.

Any other feedback would be appreciated too, or a take on your first or most memorable projections!  :-)

Hello Matt, and welcome.

I've found that the more time I spend here reading and participating in the forums, the more I stay focused on projecting.

Be sure to check out the Astral FAQ subforum and Technique Central sticky at the top of this one.

Hi Matt

Kodemaster basically has it right. The most important elements in successful projection are intent and continued effort and practice.

Any "work" that you now do should eventually pay off.  Most people have an OBE within a few weeks of starting what I will call a 'training routine'. Also, many times OBEs occur days or weeks after a person ends or suspends a regular routine of OBE induction and/or meditation, meaning that an intention to go out of body is firmly set in the mind, even the subconscious. So stay at it and don't quit.

good luck
Grey :-)
