Was I about to project?

So I laid down on my bed in the dark.
I began repeating in my head "I want to Astral Project..." Over and over again
Then I cleared my mind(A random thought would still appear but I shrugged it off and kept going)

Then began to count my breaths
Sometime later, I felt tingly sensations all over my body
And a slight pressure on my chest.

Were those the vibrations?

I kept counting more.
Then I imagined rolling out of my body and flying upward to look at my body.
I kept doing this for a long period of time.
And over the time, the sensation increased.

I had to get up because my cat broke my concentration.

Was I about to project?
What do I do when I reach these "vibrations"

Well done, you were about to ap but the cat distracted you.  The only thing you had to do and that was to keep doing what you were doing.  I imagined rolling out of my body and flying upward to look at my body.   You would have been out.

Astralnewb

Wow! I knew I was close. But that is amazing, this is my first try at this and I'm already almost AP!
I have confidence I can fully project tonight!

I did used to try and practice to lucid dream but eventually gave up after a month of training, could that have impacted my skill or something?

Astralsuzy

I would advise not to get too focused on that vibration.  Next time you may get different vibrations.  You might hear sounds, other things may happen or you may not get anything.  If you get no vibrations you can tell if you can get out of your body as your body usually feels different or your mind will feel different.  On this forum people like to phase.

Do I just go with the vibrations and begin visualizing myself rolling out of my body and when I feel the separation I open my eyes? And will you remember all of your experiences regardless of recall unlike lucid dreaming?

Astralsuzy

That is right.  When you have separated then open your eyes.  Your eyes may already be open when you are out of your body.  You may or may not remember your experiences.  I found it is a good idea to look around for a while and notice what you are looking at.  If you do that it is more likely you will remember things.

Congrats! This is about as far as I got a ling while back when i was conciously trying to AP. my problem is I heard felt the vibrations and got too excited and amazed at that fact, then blew it lol. With me, in addition to the feelings, i heard the buzzing in my ears and would describe it more like a static sound that slowly gets louder and goes along with the vibrations. But like someone else here said, you could experience something different next time.. i think the biggest thing is to just relax and keep your mind clear other than whatever technique you are using to get out at the time... And just go with it. Oh yeah and kick that cat out of the room before hand haha. I wish you much luck and happy travels.. Looking forward to hearing about your first AP!

You went through, what looks like, 3 - 4 different techniques during this session.
My suggestion would be to pick just one and focus on it instead.  :)

As for your question of "were those the vibrations"... they *could* have been.  They could also have been you being consciously aware of your body beginning to fall asleep.
You don't really provide enough information to know for certain.

Anyway, keep up the good work.  It sounds like you're on the right path. :)
