That's interesting... I too felt like a metallic creature of some kind (most resembling a scorpion) when I felt menaced, but I wasn't on the astral at the time.

In one experience I was in the form of a Naga-like creature with the torso of a human and the tail of a snake. I felt my fangs distinctly in my mouth. I'm not sure of I was on the astral or if that was a vision or something. I experienced this sensation not only in a metaphysical sense, but physically while conscious. I have a lot of confusion about certain experiences I've had.

Consciously, on the astral, I've only appeared as myself. I haven't attempted shifting yet as it doesn't occur to me to try that at the time and I don't feel skilled enough to do so. As a matter of fact, I would concentrate on diminishing my form to begin with to conserve the energy of maintaining it.

For a few years I liked to be an Eagle because I love to fly like that.  Sometimes I use the Golden Dragon when I want people to remember seeing it.  Most times I am mySelf.  Other times a Golden Ball. Depends on whether I want to play or not.

Just me.  It is, after all, just illusion.  And it takes energy to maintain, and since I never have enough to be out as long as I'd like.....you get the idea!

I have used a Sword and Shield, but since I actually know how to use them, and have several of each, it's not quite the same thing...[]
