I have been having "sleep paralysis" or at least what I thought was sleep paralysis, I have these terrible night terrors about once a month and I feel like I am going crazy.

In my night terror there is this thing (shadow person) that I feel/See on my room, it is such a strong horrible feeling. In my night terrors I end up in the fetal position in my bed, usually I wake up, but I can't move, completely frozen, I try to panic or scream out but I can't. Sometimes I get so confused that I end up assuming I'm dead in real life.

Whenever I'm in a state of sp, and I get very uncomfortable I close my eyes and shake my head as hard as I can. This always does the trick for me. Usually if I do not do it until im completely awake I will slip back into sp. I've been trying to face my dark entity to no avail.

Is it actually dark when you see this shadowy vision? I ask this because when you enter the Astral it is normally through a dark tunnel/vortex, the first thing you see once you get through there is dark shadowy objects/people. You just need to ignore this and go deeper. It sounds like you are getting stuck on something that is a quite common signpost to the Astral. This will pass with practice. Just observe and move on. Don't let this trip you up. If the shadow person scares you, you are showing fear, which will lead to more fear. Any release of emotion will instantly be played out all around you. So, if you release a little fear you will instantly find yourself in a fearful circumstance. Remember thought equals action.

For me what happens is when I enter sleep paralysis, it will seem like I just woke up, I can look around with my eyes but cannot move a muscle. At first it is quite dark and it seems that I just have to wait for my vision to adjust. Thats when I begin viewing the dark figures, weird sounds, whispering etc. Do you think its possible that I close my eyes through this section and continue to concentrate and then re-open them once I feel I have left this plane? Is this dark state the etheral?

That is the point when you have to change the direction of your focus to what your intent is for that session. You could immediately ask to be on a beautiful beach on a summers day and then you are there and all your darkness/shadowy figures are gone. This is where you take control.
