What do these experiences mean?

Two years ago I had a series of astral moments I've been trying to replicate, and just recently I have been able to do so. Two of them were fully lucid OBEs and two were lucid dreams.

Several years ago, I somehow gained consciousness in my dream. It was dark, and I think initially I was viewing myself from the side. and I might have made out a few shapes in the darkness. I heard a voice in me saying "finally he's asleep, I can finally get outside of this body!" I was starting to leave my body but I pulled myself back, afraid. I wonder who that was, if it was my inner self.

A few years later I became more interested in OBEs. I had been reading about OBEs a lot, and so one morning I went back into a sleep/meditative state. I got to a point where my body was vibrating, and at that moment I decided to separate the mind and the body. I had a mental image of a link breaking and all of a sudden, it was as if my eyes were open. The thing was, everything was liquidy, as if I was seeing through a jellyfish. Then I realized I was in my astral state and I was seeing through my eyes. I raised my torso from the bed and raised my arm. I could feel they were there just as anyone can feel where their limbs are when their eyes are closed. When I raised my arm, nothing was there! I tried, yearned, to get my body up out of the bed but to no avail, maybe I was trying too hard. I felt tired and went back into my body. I had another experience soon after, but not as successful.

That same year I had a lucid, fully colored dream. I woke up in my bed, initially looking at myself from a different angle. Through the curtained window there was pure white light illuminating the room, and the bed was bathed in a soft white glow. Now in my body, I turned to my side and there was an absolutely beautiful woman draped in the sheets. She had flowin black hair and pale skin, and was lying on her side. I wasn't quite sure because of the light, but I may be seen wings and even a tail, but I am not sure at all. She said "Hello, Masato" and then it was over.

Recently, I was thinking about astral projection while sleeping on a bus. I was half-conscious, half dreaming and was trying to astral project. All of a sudden, in a semi-lucid state, I was above a pool of pearly white liquid with a gold border around it. Rising up in the liquid I saw the image of myself, paler, without my scar,  who looked up at me, and in that expression I could tell that he was completely confident with himself. He was like me but perhaps in a self-actualized state. I wonder who he was, if he was my inner, or higher self.

So my questions are, who were these people, and how do I astral project more? If I am 100% lucid,  more clear of my surroundings than while conscious, is it possible for me to go to different levels, astral crossroads, and meet my guardian angels, spirit guides, and discover my past lives?

From what I've read, all those things are possible to experience in lucid dreaming or astral projection. It's important to make the distinction between the two though. These images you've seen could have been your subconscious mind projecting things into the scenario, or they could have been actual entities. You need to do a lot of reading. I suggest reading Frank Kepple's article here (just do a search) as well as stuff by Robert Bruce. There are tons of authors out there really.

Thanks. I've looked around and needless to say I've found some fascinating stuff. Let's just say I'm eagerly anticipating October 14th :)

If anybody else has any input that would be much appreciated too.

Also, I tried to astral project through meditation and resting my eyes and seeing with my astral eyes. This was a very helpful technique, but when I started vibrating, my heart started beating so much that I was distracted. I think I was overly eager or anxious. I think it might have been eagerness. Any advice on how to not get so excited?
