if u were to die while projecting, people would drop like flies, especially in infancy and childhood, there wouldnt be a website like this, people would be scared to sleep, theres a chord a silver one that keeps your consciousness connected with your body, to sever it is to die, that only happens once.

Not sure I understand you....you were lucid whilst in your body, to find yourself being "pulled" from your body...but you say you became lucid whilst in a flying dream. Did this dream then fade, so that you found yourself concious but aware of being in bed ?

I've never had this sensation of fear whilst exiting; but I've often been frustrated by only being able to get "half out"...e.g. only my leg will float out !

Similarly, I've stood next to my bed and watched my body, feeling it pull me towards it. No matter how hard I've resisted, it becomes futile and I find myself giving in.

I'm still unsure about how fear prevents an OBE....whilst I take it on good faith from many experienced authors, and people on this site, who say that fear is a big obstacle, I never seem to experience this fear conciously.

But do I have a subconcious fear that I am not aware of ? I don't know.

Leyla, perhaps when we experience these "irrational" fears, they are only irrational to our concious minds...yet our subconcious feels differently. Just a thought !

If you no consciousness after then where would I be, what would have learned, and what I did was nothing? The easiest way to begin in believing in a greater design of this world is to be involved in a life regression or experiencing a past life. People that go through this have knowledge of events that there is no possibility of them knowing in the conscious body. Speaking in foreign languages they have never learned and even speak in languages that are dead now. There is more to living and death than the few decades we call a live.
No one with a closed mind will ever know the truth stay inquisitive and end the inquisition. "You should see the world from the eyes of the dead."-NECROMANCER

Its complicated. Ive left my body several times and I am fine. The soul is more along the lines of an energy force that drives the machine. Can the machine work without energy?...no. But as soon as it returns it becomes fully functional again.

In summary. Leaving you body is fine. However your body leaving you is not. This is a common misconception. Death occurs when the outward shell of your soul dies off, not the soul itself

Hi Leyla,

Basically the answers are no and no.

You're soul leaves your body every time you go to sleep and dream. Unless your physical body is killed, you cannot die from your soul leaving your body, because as long as your physical body is alive, your soul will always remain attached to it. Also rememeber -  NOTHING can harm you in the astral.

If you die, you will not lose awareness because your awareness IS your soul that is capable of roaming free of your physical body.

Hope this helps [:)]

Became lucid during flying dream. Was aware of strong pulling sensation. At first I thought this might be "someone" or "something" but then realized it was a force of nature- the astral wind, the universe, whatever you want to call it.

It was pulling me out of my body and I began resisting. This is the first time I remember making my exit. I usually wake up already out of my body- and last night I learned why.

I was afraid of death/loss of conciseness.
My thoughts were as such:

1) If my soul leaves my body doesn't that mean I'm dead?
2) If I'm dead doesn't that mean I will lose awareness?

I knew that both of these things were irrational, I've been out of body many times without being dead, and having perfect awareness.

Yet still my knee-jerk instinct was fear. I tried fighting it and got out for a split second and then jumped back in. Any words of advice?
