It didn't bother me, I know some peole have problems, and need lights. I also know I don't have to prove anything to anyone. as for that character that slandered me, I hope you find happiness and peace of mind, and I mean that sincerely. Thanks for your feedback Nay, I really appreciate it. I never bothered to look deeply on the subject,on an academic level only the facade.

No problem, Twisted... I am just sorry I could not give you more advise. I can tell you that once someone grabbed my ankles and was trying to pull me out..and it scared the doodie out of me!! But I have found that if I just acknowledge negative things like that and then just as quickly ignore them...they go away.
It is great you have a forgiving attitude...Most on this site are wonderful helpful people! Nick is one of them!! [

I wonder if that tactic would work on Mirador. I hate to insult someone but I have only seen that name attached to counter-productive postings. I've only been here a short time but it takes him/her very little time to make a negative impression. It's actually sad.

twisted, I had a similiar introduction into OBE. I've actually posted about it a lot but I used to wake up paralized with some figure next to me often. I dont remember it grabbing me when paralized but I do remember something reaching out and grabbing me as I would go to turn on the light during false awakenings.

The thing may not have been negative in your case because it stopped when it knew you did not appreciate it. Fear is a common obstacle to OBE. It is a barrier that has a purpose because of the fact thought=action in the astral. Your fear will cause a scary situation so in a way its making you work on your fear before you get out. It is well worth it. I would read posts by frank about fear and thoughtforms. I would also try projecting in the daytime as RB suggests because it is far less scary.

Thank you all for the input, fear does function as an inhibitor of action. I know it has grounded me from OBE'ing. I'm really glad to hear that this isn't an isolated experience, and that others have had their share of this negativity. I've even asked myself, perhaps these incidents are working toward having us move towards something...something good.
Even angry people can possibly lead us somewhere.
I have a feeling Mirador wants attention, and is really insecure, sad, lonely, tring obsessively to have control over something, Astra projection is a medium for him to have "power" of a reality that perhaps disfranchises him, I wonder why he is so consirned with authenticity. I have a feeling he grew up in an aggressive and emotionally imbalanced childhood, where he had to struggle for attention, affection, love, appreciation, a rigid tract of desolation. That's probably why he has to be confrontational, that is why he requires authenticity, and if anything, his original attack on my topic is an internalized response directed to himself. Because to him, my post reminds him of aspects within himself he needs to heal. Aspects within himself he is afraid to confront, that he cannot control, he cannot understand. So he lashes out primatively, trying to intimidate others who remind him of his pain...His inadequecies. So he tries to intimidate by using big words, contructing "meticulous" rhetoric that really doesn't make sense, making false assumptions that try to denote authority. An authority he doesn't have...Some peole in this world feel an imbalance in power, power being means of being happy, and some feel that using aggresive tactics can obtain power which equivolates to happyness. To Mirador, power to him is what people think of him, if people think bad of him, he feels, on a primative level, he needs to lash out and regain "respect". Disempowering others does not equal respect, or power....
I'll keep him in my prayers, chants, and bright thoughts. I hope his path. HIS KARMA. leads him to understand the dynamics of his pain, agony, and rage; and hopefully he will change for the better. Because ignorence doesn't equal bliss.

Hello Twisted and welcome to the forum.

Something you need to understand about the astral is that your emotions and thoughts have a big influence in what you perceive there. You found these experiences scary, so the situation appeared scary. As for this being, it may not have been at all, only something in your fear you created yourself to explain these things you have felt. When one is in a state to leave their body you can feel all kinds of strong energy pulses and sensations. I have always seen it as just energy until I came here and read about people saying that it felt like someone was touching/pulling/pushing on them. Next time I went to project I paid attention to the sensations and when looking at it like that it can feel like someone is touching you, pushing, or pulling on you. This is one possibility, and what I think is most likely.

Another, maybe there is someone there trying to help you out on to the astral. It is unlikely that this being is trying to hurt you. It is only your perception that it is because you do not know what is going on. If this being should help you out, it would be opening a new and wonderful world to you, which can in no way truly be bad.

I suggest that next time you feel any such sensation you try to remain calm and passive and just let things happen. If someone/thing is there try to talk to them. Try being open and reasonable, and remain calm. Easier said than done I know, but it is important to try.

Or better yet, take control of the situation and try projecting on your own.

This is my first time on this site, and I actually stumbled upon it.
Anyhow. I've had OBE's since I was a child, I'm twenty one right now. Well. For the longest time as a child, I remmeber every month, I would wake up from my sleep and i was somewhat able to see what is around me, yet as I would try to get back to sleep, a scaly hand would grab my left arm, near my elbow. Eventually a tingling sensation would surge throughout my body, and I would be "pulled out", only to find my screams are silent, and my phisical body paralyzed. These experience caused me to be intensly scared to go to sleep, and I remember thinking that this hand belonged to some evil witch. The last time this happened was 2 years ago, I had taken a nap in the afternoon, when I felt the same thing happen, when I awoke I saw a transparent body sitting next to me, pulling me out of my body. I screamed out the top of my longs to the being that I saw it, and that for what it has done and continues to do will be punished. I threatened it out of fear, that told it that I would have my god-mother, who happens to be a "curandera" a spanish healer, curse it.
That was the last time that has happened. I don't OBE, alothough my god-mother told me that that was my "gift" to do in this life time. I stop myself when I feel as if I'm projecting just because I'm afraid of what is out there in the astral plane. Well that was my story on astral rape...
If anyone has any useful advice I would greatly appreciate it.
