Ok, lets say you have an astral experience and you see someone from work, school, an ex girl/boyfriend. Are these people really there, not in the physical sense, but in the astral, or are they just created by you?

if the astral is a real place, shouldn't these people in theory be their with you? what I mean is, if they are "created" by you, then the astral is nothing more then a dream, right?

It is possible that it's them, however, it's also possible that it's not.

Because your subconscious mind is so powerful, very often you'll meet people from real life while out of body but it won't really be them. It'll be either the idea you have of them, or the actual "collective conscious" version of them.

In other words, imagine you have a conversation with them in the astral; when you then meet them in real life, you'll find that to them, most of the time, it'll be like it never happened, even if, in the astral, they tell you things you couldn't possibly have made up.

It is rumored that when you talk to someone who is awake from the astral, you can talk directly to their astral self and affect their subconscious. If you are successful at staying in the real time zone, you would therefore be able to telepathically communicate with them.

Then there is of course "collective dreams" where two people realize they had the exact same dream and communicated with each other. This is what is considered "real" contact with each others' astral selves, and it is very hard to achieve on purpose.

Great question. I think there is another possible answer you haven't thought of yet. Which is that you are, in fact, talking to these people, but they are simply  not conscious of the experience. If they aren't conscious of it, they will not remember it while awake.

I am able to link with a close friend who lives about 3000 miles away. When I'm out, I can visit her and I know that its her. I know because of her 'feel'. Every person, place and thing has a 'feel' to them, or you could call it a vibration I guess. But its unique for everyone/thing. By focusing on her feel I can connect with her.

At first, she was completely unaware when I would visit her. Meaning she was there, but it was like she was in a dream while I was conscious/aware. She would remember the experience though as if it were a dream. And the details were always spot on with my experience at the time (locale, other people, etc).

Now when she sees me, its like a trigger for her to 'wake up'. One of the first things that really worked with getting her conscious during the experience was not me telling her that she was dreaming, but when I reached out and touched both of her arms. The connection had an almost electric quality to it. I could tell she quickly got conscious, but then she disappearred, which I knew meant she had literally woke up.  The following morning she called me as soon as she woke up. She was able to remember the experience, albeit it was brief.

I do sometimes see her or others I know from waking and I know that they are not the 'real' people simply by their feel and the way they behave. So both are possibilities. Every situation will be different. But the next time you experience this, try and get a feel for the person. See if it feels like them. If it does, then try and touch them, like hold their arm or something. See if you are able to spark them awake.
Reality is what you perceive it to be.

I think you hit it on the head, I have been out with some friends and family members, only one at a time, and they never remember. I usually take them by the hand and go flying with them, but when I speak to them some time after, they never remember the experience.
