Yeh, I think I know what your saying, and it is hard to explain. Here's a fairly recent experience I had along the same lines as the white form and the van.
When I go to work I have gotten in the habit of doing what I think of as "synch check" as I am coming off this bridge and then into the town I work. There is a train track below the last few yards of the bridge. Sometimes a train will be going under the bridge as I pass over on the bridge. The frequency of me and this train intersecting at the different levels kept getting more frequent as I continued with this ritual of looking for the train and where it is. Sometimes it's ahead, sometimes a little late (not often).
It was fairly frequent for the train and me to be in synchrony at this bridge area. This one day the train was not there, I looked right and left (an oncoming car kept me from looking real good to the left) but didn't see the train. This wasn't unusual at all. The only thing different was the cliff along the track this day had a shadow I had never seen before. After I arrived at work I learned there was a train accident. The time and place of the accident was the same as my synch check. This made me  think about the shadow I saw on the cliff. And maybe I didn't see the accident because the oncoming car distracted me, just not sure how I could have missed this.
Anyway, does this sound like what your talking about?

Perceptions
I was tired last night when I read your post.I did get the gist of what you were saying. I read your post again this morning. Last night the figures you spoke about while on the elevator were shadow figures, even the ones in the lobby when I read about them(that's all I could see last night). Today I see what your saying more clearly. You were using intuitive skills to see the three figures. I believe the whole thing happened because of "triggers". The trigger(s) may have been the fact you were going down in a lift elevator (paradox). The oddity of the person on the left in the lobby I can't figure because of lack of details given. The lobby itself is symbolic but I can't catch on or get a feel for why.
I thinking your blending conscious and unconscious things in your waking life. This is exactly what I'm exploring.

The white that you sensed with the person behind the van is also intuitive. This is why I gave the train experience as a similar experience (tho it was shadow, not white). The white mass you saw sounds like an aura. Are you familiar with auras?

Wisp - i wrote this a few hours ago in response to your first reply.

"Anyway, does this sound like what your talking about?"
Nearly

If i imagine myself in the same situation as yours it would be a little different (for the purpose of explaining my own experience you understand).

If the train was passing was a more random event and if i just happened to quest about before hitting the bridge i would be able to detect a group of shapes in a line somewhere along the track - if i detected this i would probably find the train in the same relative position along the track.  If i detected nothing then i would probably find the there was no train along the track.

And then if you can imagine having good success with this then it sounds like what i'm talking about.

----

To add some further thoughts.  I think if i set out to disprove the good frequency of results i've had then i probably could with ease.  If i forced myself to do it on a regular basis i'm sure the results would be less convincing.  I think i'm that sceptical about it i'm a little scared to force myself to quest about any more than i do.

But then perceiving these white shapes (that are people) works 100% when it just happens - so forcing myself to look probably wouldn't work all the time anyway.

I'm very curious about this at the moment so thank you very much for you reply.
Did you discover whether the shadow was very near to the actual crash site?

terrance

Wisp - a couple of questions in regards to your last post:

Where are you coming from with "triggers" and "symbolism"?  - bit confused by
that.

I'm only familiar with auras in passing - in other words i've heard talk of them but
never looked them up - does anyone know of a URL where i could read up a bit?

"I thinking your blending conscious and unconscious things in your waking life.
This is exactly what I'm exploring."  What sort of progress and control over this
have you  had?

Thanks again for your replies :)

Terrence, I would like to say There are some obe experts here and I hope some would jump in if this person knows more. My obe knowledge and experience is quite limited.

I am more into the intuitive aspect of it all. Kind of like making practical use of things I learn in daily life. So far I find I'm the same person as I was before but it just seems I know a little bit more of the mechanics of it all. The more you learn the more you see there is more to learn. For me it's been a gradual learning of all the different aspects of different things. Like take your experience about bringing stuff back with you (some not so good as well). Just this alone can have a wide range of meanings. The answer will end up being answered by you. Hearing others' experiences is good because you are learning just by relating to the same things. I think this is why I'm so fascinated with all this. I just wanted to say this so you can know where I come from on this.

The fact you have such a good accuracy rate tells me you have a definite ability and a gift.

I'm not understanding the added things about disproving and the skeptisim part you speak about.

The 100 percent accuracy on things that come to you is a good sign.

The shadow on the cliff wall was to my right of the bridge. The crash happened on the left of the bridge.  The oncoming car(in the left lane) obstructed my view a lot (and it's a narrow bridge and you better watch where your going http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>   ),the train would have been long enough to have been seen on the tracks to the right as well. I may have been a minute or so early, but even if the accident hadn't occured when I was on the bridge, was the shadow on the wall an intuitive sign? This is what I ask myself.

By the use of the word trigger I mean that you are doing something in your waking time that causes something in your unconscious to come to your conscious. I think that's when the unconscious becomes a part of your waking life. For instance, I had an experience after getting off an elevator once. By retracing my steps where or what I was doing just before that and looking at that period of time in a "dream-like" fashion, I am able to unravel why I walked out of the elevator onto a very odd situation (not consistent with waking reality). I hope this makes more sense. This concept is somewhat difficult to put in words. And there is so much to say on this subject in such limited space.
Symbols are the name given for objects seen in a dream or vision. Like a house or building often is a symbol of your body in dreams. This is my particular interest, symbols.
You haven't spoken specifically about "symbols" (that which I try to pick up on), so I may have added confusion to the subject. The elevator is a symbol in the dream state. Am I making better sense here?
What you may have seen though may involve aura or auras. Auras are the invisible energy that all things have.Living creatures as well as inanimate objects. I'll look up a web site about this and post it here. I was really surprised that your not familiar with auras and having all these great experiences. When you mention the white form this is the first thing I thought of was an aura. The fact that you are perceiving someone's aura is getting deeper into the subject matter.
About your last question of my progress and control on blending the unconscious and the conscious.I'm just learning it. I'm learning more about it by understanding dream symbology and I guess something that may be called cause an effect (my own ). There is general use of the term cause and effect out there but I have never read about it. I prefer my own cause an effect ideas right now.The result of it all is synchronicity. My own experience with synchronicity is grand. That's when I know I'm on the right track of something. This subject alone is vast. The state of synchrony is very empowering, but hard to explain or put into words.

Oh, I'm also into omens and signs, a related topic to symbols. Omens, signs, oracles, etc. are names given to waking time experiences, as symbols are associated with sleeping time symbols.

I hope this has been some help to you. I'll look for a good aura web site. The white form could be something else, I don't know what else it could be though.  http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

I'm still hoping to run across a good visual of the aura. I may have to discribe the auras I'm familiar with. A picture is often better than words.

terrance

Wisp - sorry not to have replied for a while - I've been full-on busy applying for a new job :)

Couple of quickies from your reply:

"I'm not understanding the added things about disproving and the scepticism part
you speak about."  One thing that has become clear to me by writing these
thoughts down and having a response is that I can't actually force my self to do
this questing (don't know where I got this word from :) ITS just come to me - I
read it in a book about a boy that could 'quest' out to his beast friend - I think
they were written by Hobbs - The Assassin Trilogy!).  Tangent ends.  As i was
saying, I can only quest out when I feel I need to and when the conditions are
right.  What these conditions are I have no idea - it's a feeling that says "it's ok
to try and quest."

I will check out on Auras and thanks for your time to look for a picture/site.

I'm getting where you are coming from with the rest of what you're saying (I think).
Can you expand a little on synchronicity - I've looked it up on the Web but there's a
lot of different things under the same banner.

Sleep calls.

Hi Terrance,
Syncrony to me is a certain feeling. It's a feeling of being connected with your spirit self and physical in just the right way or combination. I guess it can be called bliss, contentment, sense of peacefullness, high on life, in a good mood, etc. There's also a mental charge that goes with it.It's like your environment is surrounded with messages coming at you right and left. You get new revelations and yet at the same time your getting confirmation of choices you have made (and maybe answers to questions). A sense of immortality really.
There was a thread at the forum here about this subject. Write in the word your looking for in the seach box and you'll find it probably.
I'll see if the internet has anything on the subject. When I hear it talked about it seems it's described as a fleeting or momentary sort of thing. For me I can spend hours and days in the state of synchrony. Once it even felt like I had died and gone to heaven. Once it felt as if I am living my dream (literally my dream came true sort of feel). These times are totally free of any present physical conditions or situations. The total opposite of this doesn't happen to me very often. This feel would be feeling ill at ease or not feeling good in my skin. So, in other words this great sense of being I stay in most the time is not a temporary or "conditional" thing, it seems to be a way of life that I have been blessed with by the grace of God (my way of thinkin).

Often I hear synchrony "confirms I'm on the right path".

This is an interesting subject alright. I'm not sure how you relate to this about your quest (I think you picked the right word). Could be your questing is your time in synchronicity.

I'll look around the net for info on synchrony. There's probably  many ways to describe it.

From my own point of view on this subject is this. Balance is important. It's a way of living that doesn't take you out of your routine. Your decisions remain sensible and grounded.Your thinking is rational and stable. You don't appear to others in a manic or out of control state. I'm saying this because the way I describe it can be taken as a bi-polar state as in the condition of manic-depression. I don't want to confuse the subtle way of synchrony to the possible remorse and negative effects of moods out of control. Synchrony is not a mood shift but a natural feel good attitude of life. It's almost a reward-like thing for all your earnest intentions. Hard to put in words but this is my best shot at it.

Sorry I haven't come across a good picture of an aura yet.
The pictures I find on the net isn't exactly what I'm looking for. It seems to me the aura in the "mystic" state has an animated look about it. This too is hard to describe. It can range from a bunch of little stars or sparkles to the appearance of white sand in a cluster in mid air. The sand can be flowing from above and in other various ways

Hope your finding the right job, good hunting. http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

Hi Wisp.

From what I hear you say about syncronicity, it is the same I speak about when i say I'm in "Flow" with my self - or being in touch with "Source".

Being in flow with yourself (being in your inner self) is a prescious and wonderfull experience, and yes - it has a lot to do with being in balance, and NOT allowing feelings to be "turned inwards", or suppressed (!). (And you don't have to react to them as well. I'ts enough to just state for your self "OK - I am really angry right now!" ... And just FEEL that anger. Normally it just sort of washes away after 6-10 seconds. It's when you suppress that (i.e.)  anger, that it sort of "clouds up" your sence of being in your inner self - being in flow - or being in sync ;-) ... -> The extreme of this are total chock, where NO feelings are felt - only a "numb" or "detached" sensation at most.

Feelings has a tendency to "Layer" themselfs - like the layers of an onion. And in the center of all this are YOU ;-) ....

But these "layered" feelings (feelings on top of feelings i.e. -> anger leads to sadnes, that leads to loneliness etc. etc.) is also on of the fastest ways to actually get in touch with your inner self(!). (And get in touch with long forgotten childhod traumas / memories, that normally causes us a lot of grief in the present day ;-) ) ....

The (very) short explanation is: Just "dive through" your emotions, like you are peeling layers of an onion ;-) .... And: After the Worst comes the best ;-) .... Just KEEP DIVING THROUGH EVERYTHING !!!! ....

The total process, and all the details are in Brandon Bays book "The Journey", that I started with once I started my own journey ;-)

Just a quickie:

Sometimes I used to wake up in the morning with a song in my mind. It was usually an obscure pop song from the 80's that is rarely played on the radio.
It was a shock to hear it on the radio 10 minutes later.
This happened 3 times in the space of a few months but it hasn't happened for about 4 years now. I would have been about 24-25 yrs old.
This seems to be a similair experience but more audio than visual.

wisp

That's interesting Alivie. I've had that happen  a couple of times. It can sure get one's attention! Sometimes I wonder if that's what it's about? That's a good example of synchronicity! Like a wake-up call perhaps? I bet the message of the song has a message too.  http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

Kenneth,
Everything is right with the world when your in control of yours. This a goal I have always had and the pay off is great.
The interaction with other people can be quite a challenge, but as long as you stay strong in who you are, you come out ok. The different kinds of people can test you on this point. They will throw their own self doubts on you like your suppose to absorb their negative issues. I don't accept such things. I let them know right off about any negative stuff they want to hurl at me. In this way I guess, I too take a hold of feelings of anger instantly. And so true, the anger is there but gone again just as quickly (maybe not for the other person with the problem, hehe) but that's ok too since they are free to make their choice to be unhappy. Yes indeed, dealing with those things when they come up is important. I wish I was stronger in this area because I lack the right approach with people sometime. Some people confuse the heck out of me sometimes. I can usually tell the ones that are on a path or journey like me. The ones that are not, I just avoid the best I can. I'm going to get the book "PSD" for the very reason of vulnerability.

I like what you said about dealing with anger and the complexity of it with the layers. What you said is so true.  I like the saying "Live, and let live".  Most people practice this but some don't. The ones that don't seem to be the ones we have to deal with. Many  good hearted people let the bad aspects build up for so long it does get layered like an onion.

I think the flow and the being in touch with yourself is a good description of what synchrony is about. Thanks for your insight on this. http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

terrance

What's been said about synchrony thus far is very interesting, and something I've been interested in for years (if i'm along the right track that is).  There have been certain examples I've come across in the last few years that seem to relate to this idea of synchrony.

I can't remember which book (I think it was Fear and Trembling) that I read of Soren kierkegaard's about four years ago.  In it he mentions a state of being called an ecstatic epiphany.  It can occur at any time.  I've walked under the stars on a cool night and thought "everything is right - all is one" and had a trickle of pleasure run through the core of my being.  I've seen a child smile in the street, heard a song on the radio etc. etc. and had these same thoughts/feelings.

In the film American Beauty the lad with the camera finds a moment like this when confronted with a bag floating about in the wind.  The moment was never captured on his tape though - just a visual representation of the memory of that moment.

I also pursued the idea of Tao - a state of humble oneness where one could act peacefully and ethically with reference to ones virtues only.  When I practised this I would have the a feeling of 'oneness' over long periods of time (hours).  I've since moved away from this line of enquiry.

I was fascinated by this 'oneness' though and began to practice meditation to reach these perfectly aware and alive states.  I practised/still practice being in love with everything by just dropping myself in.  Hard to explain.  It's as if I just take stock of what matters and chill.  It's lovely.

If this is similar to the above ideas on synchrony it was a fascination/enquiry separate from my curiosity with the spiritual (OBEs, lucid dreaming, remote viewing [I hate that term] etc.)... I think I'm still missing the spiritual element that makes this synchrony... errr confusing my self now!!!

"I think the flow and the being in touch with yourself is a good description of what synchrony is about."  If this is synchrony then it is similar to what I'm interested in... if I'm honest with my self though I've probably been a little out of touch over the last few months...

Can't stop writing tonight - suddenly got loads to say :)

wisp

I'm just now catching on to other possible names of the same thing, such as oneness and self.
Spiritual in itself is a matter of definition I suspect. For me it's a combination of mind, body, and spirit.
For instance, living it (physical by action), thinking it (mindfullness of intention), and the spirit or soul aspect and the discovery of it. And the added joy of the combined potential of it all.
Then there's the added feature of other spirits being involved. I'm not sure how this part comes into play. It could very well play a part not known to me at this time. The spirit or spirits I believe want me to discover my own potential for the time being. I use to be quite dependent on spirit intervention for help(I use to pray alot and felt helpless in situations). I had a dream a few years ago in  which my spirit guide (or guardian angel) flew from my bedroom to the outside through the window. He said he would be on the other side of the window. It was as if to say "your on your own". It was difficult at first but I've really learned alot being on my own more. The guardian angel has confirmed his continued presence on the other side of the window several times since that first dream.

terrance

Hello, I'm new here.  I've only read a few of the posts here over the last month or so but have
found that a lot of what's said rings bells.  I've had OBEs for a few years now but have
only been able to talk to a very few people about them.  I see this therefore as an opportunity
to get some responses to what's happened (and happening) from people that appreciate
where I'm coming from.... i'm waffling.

I've had some fantastic projections in the past across several planes.  I've had terrible ones
as well where things have followed me back to the real world.  And I've had things happen
to me whilst not meditating etc when I've least expected them to occur.  It's that latter that i
want to ask about on this first post.

The first time it happened was probably 3 to 4 years ago:  I was going down a lift (elevator)
in an office building.  I was alone and before I got to my floor I closed my eyes and picked out
three shapes in the blackness (as my eyes where shut).  They closely resembled human
forms:  one sitting on the far left, one standing to my right and one sitting high up and close to the last one.  When the lift door 3 people where in the lobby in the relative positions of the shapes I'd seen some moments ago.  I was startled at the time - even more so because the person on the far left was in such an odd place - normally a person wouldn't be in that position.

At the time I hadn't really heard of astral projection or OBEs.  Since I've started looking
into the spiritual these experiences occur more frequently and with 100% accuracy.  I can
even now force this to happen.  I sought of quest around and pick out people - although my
will to do it seems to drain if I over do it.  My perception of how far away people are is
somewhat limited as well for some reason.

The reason I'm fascinated by this is because a couple of days ago I was driving along and
and sensed a white form behind a big van.  I braked, and as I past I saw a person stepping
out from behind the Van.  I wouldn't have hit him anyway because he didn't just jump out into
the road - and he didn't step out far enough.  But its got me thinking about similar previous
experiences.

Has anyone ever experienced this or have any sort of explanation about how it occurs?
I'll be really interested to hear any sort of comment.  And please forgive the language I'm using
as I'm not to sure which terms to use to explain some things above.

Thanks.
