:? ok ive been out of body more than 10 times succesfully already since i started projecting in september. Last succesful one was december 7th. however ive had many more experiences lately and they keep happening more frequently even without me trying sometimes spontaneously (which i c as a good thing).

BUT the last 9 times i keep having the same issue! i wake up to pitch black (astral blindness) or sometimes enter the obe stage thru a lucid dream OR sometimes i can see but anyway i feel my body floating and automatically start trying to fully separate. i cant fully separate! like last night for example it got me so frustrated i woke up 5 different times! in one night to the floating stage which is like a record for me. however in every single try i couldnt completely come out! heres what happened in each try. Maybe you guys can tell my why im having this issue or ways to get around it/improve separation.

1)the first time it was from a lucid dream which i became aware and i was flying but noticed i had my phone in my hand and decided to drop it in midair but since the thought of it falling entered my mind I guess, my flight upwards stopped in midair and i started slowly floating back down, fearing i would lose it i guess i woke myself up but to my body still floating. i decided to try the one when you flip over to the side....i was succesful in doing this but it felt like the right side of my physical body wouldnt let go and was still attached. i was floating next to it but couldnt get away from it.

2) after the first failed attempt i gave up and faded into another dream which once again i became lucid and then awoke to me floating again. this time i thought of my legs (they were floating almost vertical...actually more like a 90 degree angle and were completely seperate from my physical legs) i tried to pull away or float upward but my head would not seperate. i tried raising my intent/focus and the pull on my legs felt so strong that for a second i even thought somebody was pulling them for me. i asked is anybody helping me? Seeing if a guide or somebody knew I was having trouble...I didn't sense/hear or see anybody and after asking that I only sensed my dog who was sleeping next to me and heard her whine/make that crying sound dogs make after asking.

3) third time I was floating again in a complete 360 position from where my physical body was but couldn't come out the moment it would of floated upward to of been completely separate I couldn't float up higher anymore. Felt like a barrier stopping me.

4) fourth time felt floating again but just went back to sleep.

5) fifth I had a false awakening, went to the bathroom to go take a tinkle til I noticed there was a candle in the toilet, lit (lol don't ask me why) and I realized once again I was still in a dream..i thought damn felt so real I almost peed on my bed then if it wasn't for that candle and when I thought this I was on my bed floating again. This time I was blind again but then regained some sight...I was frustrated already and once again it was my legs that were out so I decided let me try spinning in circles like crazy...my legs were up in the air and my body started spinning(not upside down/360 degree but same direction way as the fan on the ceiling, I could easily make the legs float up and spin in circles and everytime my ethereal body was away from my head(legs where head spose to be/head where legs spose to be) I got a glimpse of the a.c./wall (which is right behind my head) and it would go black again when my ethereal head would have been near or together with my physical head and then got the glimpse of the ac /wall again whenever my ethereal head was where my physical legs were etc etc. if you can understand.?-->then I really woke up but held it in (I really did have to pee) until I wrote everything down in my journal because ive gotten up to go to the bathroom before and realized i forgot the experience when I go back to my bed to record it.

p.s. so sorry for the long post guys!

CFTraveler mentioned this once before, and I think it might apply here as well.
Your "astral blindness" might not be blindness at all... you might just be in a void, an "in between" focus state.  I've experienced this many times as I'm coming OUT OF a lucid/astral awareness experience.  I'll begin to feel myself wake up, at which point, I witness shift of my vision go from non-physical environment to blackness.  I just view the blackness as the in between state of non-physical and physical.

Here's the thing... when you were lucidly aware, you were *already separated*.  You were already in the non-physical... there's no reason to return to your physical body to entice a second separation, you're just causing double the trouble.

You're doing fine... you've actually had more experiences than you give yourself credit for.  Astral Projection isn't really that hard... what tends to be hard is "staying" projected.  At least, that's what I'm finding.

Stop trying to "separate" yourself as there really isn't any reason to and just enjoy the non-physical while you're there.  :)

hmmm..... you know what that makes alot of sense to me....because its usually from a nonphysical environment (lucid dream/flying) which fades to pitch blackness once im trying to convert the lucid dream to an obe...maybe it is a "in-between state" or part of the process and im not being patient enough to let it carry on.

and i do instantly try seperating like i mentioned once i feel the floating and see blackness because i remember people telling me astral blindness goes aaway when you get farther from your physical body and also i get kinda scared of "losing it" if i dont start trying seperation right away, instead of exploring or enjoying the state like you said.

..ok so basically what your saying is just ride it out and see what happens....
+will do

thanks Xanth you always give good advice :-D ill see where that takes me

Yep, I believe Xanth is right- you're already separated, so trying to separate just may bring you back 'in'.  Instead see if you can detect a sense of movement and 'go' with it, or let yourself float and see what happens.  Chances are, something will.
