Not just for personal responses, but the very existence of this forum and people posting their own accounts of what works/doesnt.
I have also read the instructional part of the obe4u.com manual, and Xanth's Primer, and these have helped with seeing different perspectives, techniques and attitudes. The theory that dreams/lucid dreaming/projections are all the same state but with differing degrees of awareness/lucidity really helped me understand and be more comfortable.

I had success this morning!

In the first False Awakening I have had since my first post a couple of weeks ago (stopped having them after I realised it was a good thing), I immediately saw it for what it was and went with it, tested my astral limbs for sensations, brushed my "hands" together and just "rolled out", easy. A few times, because the first couple of attempts were rather confused in all the blackness and vague suggestions of carpet.
The e-books I mentioned earlier really helped me stay in it, but they didn't help me mentally going overdrive and WANTINGTODOEVERYTHINGATONCE out of elation.

I don't know if the regulars here are bored by the floods of detailed first accounts.. So I'll give the montage version and suffice it to say I went on a brief but interesting first astral journey..

In what I think was a couple of minutes I jumped, floated, went to a weird island place while trying to project to Lofoten Islands in Norway (first place I thought of that I havent been but want to go), rolled down a grassy hill naked (first thing I thought of, er, to deepen the experience..haha), found my lovely partner, ate some food, and started to get rather intimate with said partner on a table full of food before I got pulled back into my body.
:-D
Apologies it that is an overshare of information..

I just want to say thank you all so much!
I'd still be having paralysis terrors if it weren't for people around the world giving their time and letting people in similar situations know it's a relatively common phenomena, not to fear it, and where it can lead.

Dude! That's awesome! Congrats! Just so you know, I'm confident in saying the MORE detail you put into your accounts the more we will all enjoy reading them. I'd personally love to hear more :D

Thanks  :-)

I'll write it all down then, starting with the lucid dream I had beforehand cause I remembered quite a bit.

The lucidity started with the awesome dream where I was with my partner and his housemate/best friend on a grassy hillside somewhere that had a facility type building underneath it.
I was looking intently up at the sky cause I felt there was something strange about it. Keps staring at the moon waiting for someting. I think my partner thought I was being dreamy and silly for doing it.
I looked away to talk to him and when I looked back, there were all these "moon shards" or rather like 5 or so 3 quarter full glowing moons floating around one another. They seemed to be within the atmosphere though. I just gazed at them awestruck at what I was seeing. Then this other MASSIVE sphere appeared in the atmosphere. It was a gunmetal grey, rotating spherical puzzle with pieces missing that looked to be made of mercury. It shifted a lot as to where the holes were. Another appeared.  :-o
Got my partner and his friend to look and they were impressed and curious. I wanted to go get my camera. I wanted to show my ex partner, because he basically lives for this kind of stuff. I said something to the effect that if I got my camera, we all know it will disappear, haha.. my partner wandered off and I went to get my camera, which is the one I have in real life.. and sure enough they were gone when I got back. Then we started to get paranoid and head toward the facility under the hill, and I think this is where I had the false awakening.

So I "wake up" and I pick up that something's amiss. There's a hazy glowing light to everything, and my body feels odd. I don't notice the paralysis that has freaked me out so much in the past. So I get kind of passively, dreamily excited, if that makes sense, and test my body. I start to move my arms and brush my unseen hands together. I love the feeling my energetic hands make as I do this.. I think "well.. if my hands are out I might as well try rolling!" And it worked first go.
I end uprolling into in blackness with a vague dim feeling of carpet. I think I got sucked back into my body so I repeated the process but this time decided to blindly touch all that surrounded me.

Eventually awareness dawns and by this time I'm running down a corridor, and I think I thought about visiting my mother first and I don't think it worked. Might have for a half second appeard in what looked like her house. So I thought hard about those islands in Norway, and floating. The sensations weren't 100%, but it still felt very much like I was in my "real body".
I was transported, mid float-jump, to a place of rolling grassland with a suggestion of dramatic coastal islands way off in the background. The grass I landed on is the coarse short Australian grass we have as lawns here and I saw it up close. I felt I needed to deepen the experience so I did something I love to do, which is roll down hills. It worked, felt it prickling all over my body and the air whooshing past. :-D

I think I floated briefly there then decided to think about my partner and see him (I'm female btw).
I appeared outside a dwelling in a hill and I knew he was inside.  I got this feeling innitially like there was another energy in there, but not a scary one. There were tall large glass windows set into the hill and maybe porch. Before I got there I had this weird experience where I think I found some technology I'm not familiar with and was transported briefly to be veiwing this skyscraper building. I thought in confusion "I don't want to be here" and went back to the hill scene.

I appeared inside the dwelling and there was my lovely standing in a smallish room with a bare wooden table and some chairs. I went and gave him a hug, partly to maintain the experience and make him more real, and partly because I just wanted to. I think he was chatting to me about something but I can't remember what. Then he decided to eat and there was a roast chicken on the table. I am actually vegetarian and haven't eaten chicken for years, but thought, well, nothing's really died for this so I ate some. Again the experience was a little vague and it was texturally similar to baked spiced potato but with crispy chicken skin on top.
Then I imagined the whole table covered in delicious food and it appears.

Now I'm not going to censor my journey too much, I then thought since my partner is here it would be an interesting feeling to have sex on this table full of food (I think there were things like fresh eels and stuff in the banquet as well as baked things, haha).
I think that thought/action got me pulled out of my projection because I woke up for real as soon as it started to happen. I was fully conscious and alert as soon as I returned to my waking state.

I've read reports that some people initially and naturally get sexually excited in projections but as soon as they act on it they're "thrown out".

I wrote what I could remember down (had a pad and pen by the bed) then texted my partner who is at work to say I succeeded.

Just kiddin.... Hey congratulations man.
