Hello all

Im new to this board. :)

Ive been experiencing a number of odd spiritual things over the past 9 months
but lately starting to wake up in the middle of the night to lights flashing at the top of my head.
Its like I'm sleeping and then suddely this flutter of bright lights shoot down from where? to my head, like i can see through the top of my head
and then I feel this buzzing in my body, like my spirit wants to leave it and then I am drawn back into it.

From what I've been told (and come across online) this might be me astral projecting.
But my question is this - is it possible to project without trying? Because Im not trying anything when this happens, its when Im dead asleep that
I get awakened by these lights. Is it possible my spirit guides are trying to induce astral projection? If so, why?
If I am going anywhere, I NEVER remember it.
Is there a benifit to astral projecting other than the "cool to visit places" factor?

I should add - when I see these lights (in my sleep, eeys closed) its as if they are coming to me, not leaving me.
Is it possible these lights are me re-entering my body?
And the last two times this happened, my body became hot apon me being awakened, and then I had to go to the bathroom right away.
Is that a sign of having astralled?
I also noticed that the last two times this happened, it happened the same time  - 2:50 am in the morning.
Any meaning behind that?

Any light anyone can shed on this would be much appreicated! thanks!

spontaneous astral projection is very possible.

in fact, that is how many projectors discover the "phenomenon" in the first place.

then they do research to find out what it is and start learning to induce it.
be awesome.

I would say that your pineal gland has activated.  This is not necessarily due to AP, but the buzzing may indeed be reentry symptoms, or impending exit symptoms.
Both things happen (AP and other energetic phenomena) to people who meditate and practice some sort of energy work, so it is not rare, however, the lights thing isn't necessarily due to projection.
I'd say both 'symptoms' are due to something else, some sort of development.

Like PR said, spontaneous projections happen, and sometimes are what gets us to learn how to do it on purpose.

Yes, it's possible, but chances are more has happened that you don't remember.

QuoteIs there a benifit to astral projecting other than the "cool to visit places" factor?
That's for you to find out.

No, it's a sign of some sort of energetic development or something physical.

Perhaps.  If you are projecting, it usually happens when your brain is in theta.  If your normal sleep rhythm make you be in theta around that time, it's why it's happening around that time.
I get the feeling that the reason is not so mysterious- it's possible that this is the time in between your two four-hour sleep cycles, a natural time to wake up after REM sleep.
