Yes, Ram Dass wrote Be Here Now back in 1971. He has had a long and interesting life. Should anyone wish to read a short bio on him, you can at the website below.

I'm still only half way through Be Here Now, and i'm about a 1/4 done with the Man and His Symbols (sorry that i never got back to give the name of the book, but it's the one i mentioned before about Carl G. Jungs life work). Be Here Now has turned out to be a great book so far, but i don't have much else to say about it. Man and His Symbols has already helped me once since i've had it. It discusses how your dreams are kind of a 'map' of your unconscious kind of, and that you receive messages through your dreams that can help you out in many ways. Well, i was having an idea of something i was going to do (which was actually morally wrong, but almost needed). I had a dream last night that i at first just put off as another meaningless dream. After thinking about it today, i realized the lesson it was teaching me. It showed me what was to happen if i proceeded with this immoral idea i was having. I'm not positive it put out that message, because i'm not an expert dream analyst (YET [:P]), but i'm pretty confident. How awesome. Peace

I just went and bought myself two new books tonight, even though i still have plenty more to read. Be Here Now is a book that first explains this guys life up until the seventies when he met Tim Leary and Ralph Metzner. He started experimenting with psychedelics and it lead him on a new life path. He left psychology and college, and went to India and became a disciple of a yogi. The next largest portion of the books details how to 'be here now' with rather odd analogies accompanied by odd pictures. I've read 40 or so pages and am to the second portion and so far it is great. The third section actually explains how to live a spiritual life according to his beliefs recieved in India; it tells of meditation, yoga, dance, love, and many other things. I'd already recommend it after reading that little bit. A friend of mine has read the whole thing and highly recommends it.

The other book i got (don't remember the title, and am too high to go get it [:o)] ) is Carl G. Jungs last work before he died i believe. It explains almost all of his work and ideas in terms that an average adult can read and understand. I've only read the introduction, but i've heard many great things about Jungs ideas dealing with archetypes and the collective conscienceness.

I'll report back when i read more into these books. Peace
