A Recurring Dream

I used to have this dream all the time when I was a kid. A few times a week for a long, long time. But my childlike mind made nothing of it. But recently, the dream has come back.

It is longer than this but I cant seem to remember it all.

I am a baby crawling around. Where Im not sure. It feels like outside in or near bushes. It is definately at night. The whole dream is nighttime. One thing that I always remember is how hard it is to crawl. Like there is alot of friction. But I do not know where it is coming from. There is an intense feeling that something is about to happen.
Then I crawl through the bushes.
And then, this part I can never forget, on the other side something wierd happens. Myself as the baby is gone, everything from the previous part of the dream is gone and I get this image of a man standing looking up at the sky, holding a sword straight up with both hands on the handle, and the sword is struck with lightning. This is the point when I wake up. Everytime I wake up at the same point. I get the feeling that the man with the sword is me. Although it is more like I am looking at myself as the man than I am actually being that man.

I would be very interested in hearing some peoples opinions as to what the dream might mean. From the feeling it gives me everytime, I have no doubt that there is some meaning to it.

Hey :) I use to be able to interpret dreams. Mostly for people i know but i can tell you what i think of this

That you are a baby first could be that you have a safe and good place to live or that you feel comforted with the people around you (like everyone around is friends) Then that you are crawling and that you hate it cus of the friction i don´t know about that but it could be that you give sacrifice to help a friend or friends or someone (Really really unselfish deed)
The fact that it is nigh time might mean that at night you are most open for the future (Planning time etc) When you see yourself as a man with a sword pointed at the sky and it´s struck by lightning it can be that either you don´t regret the things you have done to become who you are or a number of various things ( off course all of this dream can be interpreted differently) but another example is that you are gaining energy and energy body development fast now and that you are becoming more open :)

May the love be with you

I like AstralSailor's interpretation, so I won't add much.

However, my first thought about the friction was perhaps with the "growing up" or even "progressing" through the dream/life.

Going through the bushes is interesting.  Have you ever NOT gone through the buhes?  I wonder what the bushes represent?  Puberty?  It's natural whatever it means.

The fact that you are looking at the man (yourself) perhaps means that you are not there yet, the man with the sword is your future.  With the lightning on the sword, does that "lighten" the whole dream?  As in being in darkness before, and then "into the light" type of scenario?  Or is it still dark when you are the man?

The sword is incredibly symbolic.  Here's from a website:

Sword

To dream that you are wielding a sword, represents your ambition, competitive nature decisiveness and will power.. You seek to hold a position of prestige, authority, and distinction. Alternatively, the sword can be seen as a phallic symbol and thus represent masculine power.

It being struck by lightning - I can only see that as a good omen.

Hmmm, very nice and interesting dream.  Thanks for sharing.  :)

We all find nonsenses to believe in; it's part of being alive.

MindFreak,

Wow, a great dream. It spans over time, very powerful I'm sure.

I like AstralSailor's interprtation too. I see a bold transformation in it!

I'll have to look up some of the symbols too.

MindFreak

The lightning hitting the sword does not lighten up the dream at all. It is actually what makes me notice how dark it is. If anything it is darker at that point but the lightning hitting the sword and the image of the man, from my memory, went by as quick as a real flash of lightning. I really only get the image of the man at the point when the lightning strikes.
But before that, the fact that it was nighttime was kind of in the background. I knew it but it did not really take any notice.

As for puberty, I've had the dream well after puberty hit.

I would like to know some of these websites about dream symbols and interpretation, if you know of any.

For some reason I clicked on this post absentmindedly, so I will comment.
Although I would say...u already know what this dream means.

Be patient, take time to lay in the cool grass (literally) as it will regenerate and heal from the friction. The process does seem like a struggle, but your eye lays in the direction of things unknown...and through the bushes ye shall wander, surrounded by the dark, and in the darkest moment of all you shall find a new strength, and your mind will be illuminate with a great understanding.

When most people stumble and fall in their darkest moment, for u the message is clear...you are only steps away from something divine.
