Hi HauntedDreams,

Welcome to the Astral Pulse! [:)] It seems that a better place for your dream question may be our dream forum rather than obe discussions. I went and moved the topic. If you disagree please pm me and we'll work something out.

I don't know what to make of your dream, however I have had some strange ones as well. There may be some members who can give you some insight in our dream forum. Looking forward to more of your posts.

HauntedDreams

First off I apologize to everyone who took time out to respond to me on my previous thread (entitled "Hoping Someone Here Can Help Me With Dream Problem.") I didn't get a chance to respond again, though all of you certainly gave me a lot to mull over and helped immensely. I also appreciate the support that was given, I have to say, I wasn't expecting this to be such a friendly and supportive site:)

As it turns out, one of the members here, "Shaman" I believe, was correct. I remember thinking when reading Shaman's reply "No way, that could never be it, I don't have that sort of ability!" I did mention I had dreams come true before, but I never would have believed to this extent.

Well, I was proved wrong a couple nights after posting. I had another dream. I had been dreaming of a bunch of nonsense...the typical (normal) jumbled dreams that I can never remember, where they jump from one thing to the next. Then suddenly I'm in an alley somewhere, and a man comes busting through like the backdoor of a store, at a dead run with a machete. He sees me and comes after me, and we started fighting. I remember the weapon actually changing, a machete, then a gold-toned sword which broke off, then a knife. I fought him and actually won, then woke up.

Strangest thing is, I never felt this was one of the "haunted" dreams I spoke of before. I thought it was an ordinary dream. I even mentioned to my husband how I was able to change it and take charge for once! (He's never been able to understand why I can't do that in my dreams.) I was so proud of myself. I forgot about the dream quickly (it didn't "linger" like those others) and I went about my day as normal.

Then I'm sitting there that evening, jotting down a "to do" list for the next day, half listening to the evening news on tv and something caught my attention. A man in the local area had been caught for robbing a string of small businesses. His weapon of choice? A machete. The news reporters were pretty stuck on the story because of the weapon he used, very unusual.

I think I've sort of been in shock ever since, and extremely shook up. It's made me think of all those other dreams and I was even busy attempting to track down on the web any news articles from the past using the details from some of those dreams I had.

Today I dozed off for awhile after a sleepless night and had a bad one. Just like the previous one, I was having the "jumbled" dreams, and then suddenly it took a major twist. It was a man, he was tall with either dark blonde hair or light brown, scraggly and shoulder length, a tad wavy. Brown eyes I think, I do remember his features. He was wearing old faded jeans and a big army green coat. There were a lot of people in my house that I was trying to get OUT. People I didn't know. And suddenly this man walks in. I was explaining to him that he had to leave (in a not so nice way, I had been screaming at the others, they were mostly kids.) Then I realized something was off about him. He seemed very "slow" and had problems speaking. I felt sorry for him at this point and when he stood up, he had a bouquet of flowers or something that fell and I was trying to help him pick them up, but they just kept falling everywhere. He was speaking very slow and sort of blubbering nonsense. Then the next thing I know he grabs me and picks me up, and I saw his face, and any traces of "mental slowness" were 100% GONE. He had a huge grin on his face (not a friendly one, but malicious) and he says "You didn't think you'd get away, did you?" I remember I had something in my hand from that bouquet, a long plastic thing, and was trying to actually try and stab him with it, but he never flinched, just kept smiling. He started to carry me off and I remember screaming my husband's name and thinking I was never going to see him again. I woke up screaming too.

I've been upset ever since. I've already scanned local news just in case, because after the first dream my first thought was that maybe someone had been kidnapped. It gave me the worst feeling ever. There were a few local stories that *could* possibly pertain to it, but nothing directly. I'll watch for the news tonight though, just in case. But what would I do even if I did see something? I've been debating on that. Do I dare try and help and then raise police suspicions or get laughed at? I can't even think of anything else right now. All I can think is that I may have dreamed of someone's kidnapping, and I don't know if it has happened, happened right then, or is going to happen in the future. And all I can think is that if they're not found in the first 48 hours...well, you know the rest.

Another strange little tidbit of info about this dream .Afterwards I woke up to two of my cats (one who is extremely in tune with everything that I feel) staring at me, eyes huge. I thought maybe it was just me yelling, but they continued to act very strangely afterwards. The older one (the one in tune with how I feel) continued to follow me and "reassure" me in his own little way as he usually does if I'm extremely upset. The other one though, my young Siamese I haven't even had for long, kept acting very jumpy, and was actually looking around and underneath the bed I was sleeping in. It was as if they both sensed something wasn't right. It really caught my attention with the young Siamese one though....he's not the type to do that and is usually just wrapped up in his own little (destructive) world and oblivious to everyone around him.

For the time being, I'm not going to try any defense against these dreams (not even sure if it would work anyways.) I'm just going to let it fly and see what happens for now and keep "investigating" them afterwards. If these are premonitory though, and it does certainly seem so, then this is going to drive me mad after awhile. How do you deal with this, knowing it's happened or is going to, and yet you don't have enough information to help?

I am going to take the suggestion on a dream diary as well. Thanks again to all of you who helped me in the last post. It's certainly strange though that these dreams were revealed for what they are shortly after posting here, after years and years of this. I am really unsure of how to cope with this at this point, and a little scared I have to admit, but I do feel a lot better knowing that I can atleast talk about it here to people who have an open mind.
