Body asleep / mind awake = really loud buzzing

So sometimes I take a nap in the middle of the day. I fall asleep but, every so often, a part of my brain wakes up and I am conscious. I know what's going on because I've had this happen before - I feel paralyzed and see all black, and I hear a really loud buzzing. If I concentrate on the buzzing, or if I think about nothing at all, the buzzing gets louder and I want to wake up, which usually involves a lot of concentration.

I know plenty about sleep paralysis, however I don't hallucinate at all. I just can't move (I assume, due to most of my brain still being asleep).

Does this happen to anyone? Do you get a SUPER loud buzzing sound?

I would say I have experienced a few SUPER loud buzzing sounds / vibrations more than a few times. Do you believe that your primary energy centers [chakras] may have something to do with it?

Erad

I wouldn't know - I haven't done chakra work in a long time. I guess what I'm asking is, does this happen to anybody and do you take that opportunity to perhaps astral project? I feel like it's possible but it scares the crap out of me every time.

Dragohad

if it scares you then learn to accept it.
fear is the mind killer afterall.
learn to let go of your fears, or the feelings of being scared,
and accept that this is what happens to you at times and that for whatever reason it does
happen, it happens for a reason. learn what it is and go for it.
idk....just my 2 cents.

He who fears something gives it power over him.

Who is more foolish, the child afraid of the dark or the man afraid of the light?

Erad,

Yes to both questions!  It can be used for more than projection as well..

Guys, I understand to face my fear. Let me rephrase what I said - I cannot bear the ringing. It is louder than anything I've ever heard in my life. I think that's what's stopping me from trying to do anything past the noise :) Thanks for the replies.

Erad, if I may.....

The reason the sound (which I experience 24/7) is so loud to you is because you are holding yourself outside of it.  It wants you to come in.  See if you can let yourself sink into it, go inside of it, until you are experiencing yourself AS the sound.  The sound IS you, so no need to hesitate.  When you do this the volume will come down, you will experience it more as a full body (bliss) vibration than a sound -although you will still be able to hear it..

Well, this happened to me bout 3 weeks ago. In fact, this was my first "vibrational" experience and also was the topic of my first post on this site! I've had plenty of SP (sleep paralysis) in my life, but that was the first time i had a very loud buzzing sound.
It happened to me the same, as i tried to concentrate the buzzing sound got really loud. And to wake up i have to really try with alot of concentration. (I also concentrated on a kind of "protecitve cloak" since i was afraid something might happen to me lol)

The only diference is that i was staring at the ceiling, and could see the room i was in. But like you couldnt move.
I've been trying to repeat the expereience with no success, it sounds like you get them often so my advice is try to AP from there! i think there are some techniques on this site.
good luck

Erad    i agree with omcasey.      And I get the same sound at night before bed.   I have even asked my wife if she hears it.   It just blows my mind that a sound so loud is in my head and I'm the only 1 who can hear it. Like omcasey said ,   just consentrate on the sound and get sucked into it.  It will get a lot less loud  and and kinda pulsate.   If you have never projected before , you are very close.  when I go to bed and am planning  to project ,   the first thing I do Is wait to see if I'm gonna get the loud sound ,   if I do not , I just try to do a lucid dream and go that route.

Thanks for the replies, all. Will definitely take it all into consideration. :)

I started a conversation on my board about it.

So many people are hearing this sound, it is time the depths of it be known--
