Are Lucid Dreams Astral Projections??

There is another possibility going around, that astral projection is a type of WILD. The argument in favor of this is the reality fluctuations. You can go out of body and do reality testing. Not something like flying, but try to change your environment. If you succeed you are dreaming, right?

Lucid dreaming, OBE and AP are the same thing but with a different state of awareness.

Basically Monroe label Focus 22 as lucid dreaming.

My thought is, you can be projecting or OBEing while at the same time having a dream. Kinda like daydreaming, in the astral.

i'm not as curious as i used to be about this.  when i have mastered one of them or am able to fully remember either consistently, then i will start to worry about the differences.  

you can't really put any definitions on consciousness.  can we really seperate any experience we have from the one we're having now?
there seems to be a want for a clearly defined astral projection or lucid dreaming experience when there can never be.  you may be able to just as easly ask the questions : 'is experience, experience?' or 'what is experience?'.

What people are thinking is expressed as pictures upon aura, almost like a blurb in a comic strip. If people can astrally project into photos, why not into dreams? The difference is a question of which medium the picture is printed upon.

Robert Bruce talks about the difference between lucid dreams and astral projection in his book Astral Dynamics. If you have the book take a look at pages 324-335. He does say that lucid dreaming, real-time projections, and astral projections "share a fair bit of common ground".

Hello, this is what I belive:

Lucid dreaming is in the dream world, in your personal subconcious, astral projection is in the astral world or in the real time world, wich belongs to the transpersonal mind, not to your subconcious mind. LD and AP are just to different states of concious.... sometimes you are lucid dreaming in the astral world, then its already an astral projection.

I've never experienced either, so I wouldn't know. But, when I go around the internet, looking at OBE forums, some people are absolutely certain that a Lucid Dream is, in fact, an Astral Projection, but there are other people who are absolutely sure the opposite is true, and that a Lucid Dream is purely an inner thing.

So, which is it?
