I've read that people can have black and white dreams or color dreams and I was wondering, if thats true, what color of dream you normally have.

The color of dream that I always have is color. I have never had a black and white dream and I was wondering if people actually have them, which is why I'm posting this poll.

Hi that's a good question which interests me too. Yesterday i was thinking about it. Well most of the dreams i can recall in the morning, i remember they were in colour and i think for me they are in colour every night. But I've heard about people who dream in Black and White. A guy who tried to dreamwalk into my dreams asked me before i went to bed if i used to dream in colour or black and white so I'm pretty sure there are people who have black and white dreams.

Hope that helps
Bye :-D

This was a question I've asked a few people I know over the years. All of them that could remember their dreams said colour. Mine are always colour

Astir

I've had a handful that were sepia. But none that were pure black and white.

Nay

I do both, I guess.  Like Astir it's not pure black and white but definately not full color either.  Thinking back on a few of my personal examples...hmmm.. I think it has something to do with intensity or subject, happy or sad based.  I never really gave it much thought.. but now I will, thanks! :)

You should add "both" to the poll choices.

I have a little thing to add:  I've always dreamed in color, and I think the idea that people dream in b & w is one of these old-wive's tales that got popular (I remember reading this somewhere a long time ago)- but, (and a big one), when I get astral sight (aka 'seeing through eyelids') it sometimes starts out in black-& white, and kind of not-sharp (like a punctilist work of art, for example), and as I move into it, it resolves and acquires color.  But sometimes those first moments of astral sight are in b &w.  So I wonder if the idea of dreaming in b & w. came from episodes of astral sight that people were having?  Just a thought.

I pretty much dream in color all the time, to varying degrees anyway.  Some dreams are dull but I wouldn't say black and white.

However while under hypnosis everything was pretty much seen in black and white but I could still tell what color things were.

Nameless One

All of my dreams are in color. I have never had a black and white dream.
I think the idea is that many dreams are dark anyway but not all so color is less.

Flash backs almost always are in black and white which can happen when we dream
