My Dream Recall has Been Coming and Going...Why?

As naturally adept as your dream recall is, it isn't going to be perfect, and like other talents you have it will probably go through phases.  Just don't try to force it to much.  Be delicate when trying to recall dreams.

I have always had above average dream recall, and I still do... The thing is, it comes and goes, and I'm wondering why... Like, for a week or two straight, I'll have wonderful, vivid dreams that I can't wait to share with everybody, every detail included (yeah, some people are sick of it[]), but then for a few weeks, maybe a month, I won't really remember my dreams, sometimes not at all... I oftentimes have to tell myself how much I appreciate my dreams to get vivid ones.  I'm not sure if it's just a psychological thing, or if my suboconscious needs reminding, lol, but either way, I'm really curious about this.
Any ideas?
