hhmmm... i can't really say when i first vividly saw color, because i've always dreamed in color, and so i never thought much about it... if i had some particularly colorful dreams, they never really struck me much. but i usually make note of particularly vivid dreams that have some impact on me, and one where color definitely had a big part was where i was flying through the sky during a sunrise... it was so real, the various colors of the sky, and the white fluffy clouds, the fresh morning air rushing against me, and i was so overwhelmed by the beauty of it all, i started crying (in the dream). then i landed on the roof of a car in a parking lot, where people were parking and getting out of their cars to go to work in some large building. anyway, it was quite amazing, and i thought maybe it was on OBE, but maybe it was just a really vivid dream... i really dunno.
Yes, as long as I can recall my dreams have been in vivid color. When I AP and lucid dream, I distinctly notice colors as they occur.

I have always dreamed in color. I dont understand how the color could possibly get more real or vivid as you say... to me its just a color and it can't look any different. When I become lucid and I look around I see color... i dont see vivid color becoz to me theres no such thing - its either there or not. However, when i use the verbal command "increase clarity" everything becomes a bit brigther, clearer, more crisp and realistic so i guess you could say that after using this command the colors become more vivid.

I know in several of my early lucid dreams, when I became lucid the colors in my dreams immediately became like twice as intense. It's hard to explain, but anybody who ever dropped acid probably (hey I was young and stupid) knows what I am talking about. lol

In all of my dreams that I remember, there will be at least some color that I remember. These colors usually will help me remember the dream (I suppose, anyway). Ill tend to notice them a lot. Sometimes it might end up that I remember only the kind of color it was though (cool, purple/blue, etc). Bleh. I'm too tired to think straight. Heh, Ive been dreaming with "vivid color" ever since I can remember. My first "nightmare" as a kid, anyway. As far as dreaming in color in general ... I cant imagine my dreams not being in color. I think there is always at least a beige / grey / etc shade to everything (for the dreams that are in the daylight) to my dreams that dont have a lot of definite colors. Heh, when it comes to the few lucid dreams Ive had (at least I think they were lucid ... weird feeling), the "intensity" of the colors didnt change much.
I always dream in color, and if I remember the dream I will usually remember what color things were.
Recently, more dreams have the sense of touch too (closer to OBE), so I have to avoid being eaten by dragons etc even more in them cause it doesnt feel good!

Same here, they are in color. I can recall a lot of dreams if I make the effort when waking up. What I will notice sometimes is the color seems muted or toned down a little, not always, just sometimes.
Sometimes I see colors that arent in the sprectrum that humans can see.
Yes, all of my dreams are in colour and when I do recall them I can clearly recall the colours I've seen, e.g. I remember from a dream last night speaking with a woman who had dark brown hair and was wearing a lilac top. The colours I see in dreams are the same as colours I see in my waking life, except for one of those really freaky dreams I clearly remember where I was watching an electrical storm with black lightning. Because the colours in my dreams are so 'normal' things like that I tend to remember.
Shadowatcher,
That sounds pretty weird! How would you describe a colour that's outside the spectrum?
James.
Most of the dreams I do recall are in color.
I recently had a dream with a section of it being a grainy black and white. I can't figure out what that means?
How about white dreams? I've had a few of those. Supposedly a person can get beyond the concept of color and dream an all white dream.
Those are interesting and seem to have a spiritual quality to them sometime.
Some dreams I've had, a particular color stands out more vivid than the rest. I wonder if this is a message about energy centers?
Hi timeless, this may not be addressing your statement, but here goes... [:)]
This is an interesting observation about your waking experience with color. And the fact the experience was similiar to dream color. Some synchrony I suspect.
You may have had a connection with a multidimensional set up (when circumstances fall or occur in perfect order). I don't know if this makes sense to you, but...
A tint in the real sense is when white is added (to color). A shade in the same respect is when black is added (to color). Window/glass is clear, however yellow is present (a primary color).A dark something, added to yellow would be a "fading". A dispersed shadow in a way.
The alive colors would be the light added. The duller cast would seem to be dark added. A balance of sorts for whatever reason that may mean.
The case of the window you saw may be a symbol of sun energy blended with earth energy (brown) resulting in a duller (shade). Most likely this window had/has sepia (reddish-brown and/or old energy),and therefore, the reason for the earth tone aspect. Black in glass would be a mirror (reflective), and a possibilty as well.
I suspect you slipped into a transitional state with the combination of things which occured (synchrony).
Synchrony to me is when the subconscious (dream level) connects with the conscious state. Your perception of this then followed in predictible fashion by you actually seeing your familiar subconscious state. I have had semi-oobe experiences with similiar effects.
My take on this anyway.
Thinking on this finally gave me an idea about what the grainy black and white meant in a recent dream I had. Transition to a higher realm. The dream scene with the grainy part was/is a mid-air scene.
To bring in aura color I often see black dots just before the aura color comes into my perception.
Another interesting thing. Your mention of the yellow coming through reminds me of a dream I had years ago, long before I had regular dream recall ( and knew nothing about dreams really).
The post made by shadowatcher about color in another spectrum happened to me. I called it at the time a new color. It was so cool. I remember in the dream seeing this new color. I knew I wouldn't see it in the same way after I awakened but just the same I did my best to memorize it the best I could. Sure enough, I had a difficult time seeing this color in a waking or conscious state. I did however keep a memory. My hope is to see this again. The best I can breakdown the memory of this color is that it was a green, blue, and sunshine mixture. It was a very rich field of grass I was looking over in this dream. It was one of those dreams you just don't forget!
???????? ??? ? ?? ??????? ???? ?? ?????
yes, everytime i dream i have colors all around me. In this one dream i had,i went to this castle and everything around me looked so real. But unfortunatley it wasnt because i knew what year it was.lol,..... and no i was not at white castle. well theres my post[;)]
I always dream in color but I do know what you mean. Sometimes within the dream a color seems to be more vibrant that everything else around it. And its usually an object that really shouldn't be there. One time I dremt I was about to fall 3 down a grand staircase into a dining room. Right as I was about to fall I floated to a purple pillar that was right by the staircase. The pillar was a vibrant lavender color. I slid down it only to see my cousin beside me telling me that she put it there to prevent me from falling.
Do you think that she might have dremt the same dream? And she really did 'put the pillar there' the save me?
I've always assumed I dreamed in color, I mean, that is how I remembered them. But then I got to thinking... the only time I've ever noticed colors was after I woke up and recalled the dream. And every time I was "present" in "real-time" in my dreams I don't remember color.
Well, from all that thinking I finally had a dream in which I did see colors vividly! It was so amazing that it stopped the trend of the dream and I just obsessed over these colors. But, because (in the dream mind you) I didn't have a procedure done on my eyes I couldn't see the true art. Heh, anyway, does anyone remember the first time they vividly saw color?
