Last night, I believe I was having a dream, in which I dreamed that I was dreaming. And in the dream inside my actual dream, I was thinking about lucidity and I was looking at my dream hands (which should usually get one lucid). Then I dreamed of waking up from the dream of my actual dream, yet in my actual dream, there was no sign of lucidity.

This is nuts!

I feel like while I'm dreaming I'm under 10 different psychotropic drugs inhibiting me from retaining awareness. The only substances I take however are high doses of Vitamin C and Iron  :-)

I've had  many dreams, of me going to sleep (in the dream) and dreaming. Then trying to AP in the dream, with different levels of conciseness.  I find it quite amusing when I become lucid and realize that I'm dreaming about dreaming.

Well,

my problem was that I was dreaming of becoming lucid, but not actually becoming lucid!  :-(

Since I'm dreaming about becoming lucid, how can it be that I wouldn't become lucid by the way?

Maybe since you were dreaming of becoming lucid you thought you were lucid and therefore didn't try to become lucid.

I've had that happen heaps..

@Tiny: if you're new to becoming lucid i would suggest using a cue & practicing being attentive & aware in everyday life..

Practice presence in everyday life.. now and then consciously decide to be as fully aware & present as you can be... it will bring you back to your body and the environment you find yourself in...

I find being lucid in a dream is a bit like this.. you need to KNOW you are DREAMING which = LUCID.. I find that I am present inside my dream body.. consciously aware of the dream environment.. this feels very much to me like my practice of presence in waking life..

For heaps of tips and tricks about lucid dreaming I would suggest buying the book found here:
http://www.consciousdreaming.com/lucid-dreaming/how-to-lucid-dream-book.htm

its about as comprehensive a book as i have read on lucid dreaming - and the price is good! (but not free :))

Thanks,

I'm currently reading Stephen Laberge's book, Exploring the World of LD, it's a really good book and it covers everything I want to know.

The memnoinic induction technique appears to be the holy grail, as he scientifically tested for himself.

I think I already had lucid dreams the last 2 nights, but I could not recall even 1 dream from that period but the non-lucid dreams I had before, about 2/3 of those.

Last night I set the intention (not affirmation, but mnemoinic intention MILD) to wake myself up from my lucid dreams to better remember them, and lo and behold, I woke up as little as 4 times in the night! However I have so little recall from what just happened in the dream world that I was wondering why I would "sleep so bad".

One time last night I woke up without noticing I had done so, only after 10-20 minutes or so. I just laid there and suddenly realized, holy jigsaw! I've been awake for a while! I might have been paralyzed, because upon awakening I usually move due to spinal discomfort.

Has this ever happened to any of you?
