I had this dream last night of a small mammal of some kind. It was somebody's pet and it was a very curious creature. It looked like a ferret or a meerkat, something with a long body. It was very fast and agile. People in the dream were calling it a meerkat, but I don't know if that's what it really was. I haven't seen anything like it IRL.
This creature was on a leash next to its owner, and it broke off the leash. A few minutes later I was driving in my car and it jumped into my window. I wasn't sure what to do, but it was friendly so I pet it on the head. Its fur was soft like a long-haired cat. I decided to bring it back to its owner, figuring that was the best thing to do. I recall having knowledge that these creatures were so curious that they would instantly go to whatever grabbed their attention. The creature displayed remarkable intelligence and agility. It seemed to be very aware. It noticed a car coming from the opposite direction. It thought nothing of jumping back out of my car and into this other moving car going in the opposite direction- that's a small window of time. And to have known there was something in that other car it wanted to check out is even more remarkable. When it left my car I decided to go on about my business, but awhile later I passed the same car and the creature jumped back into mine. I rolled up my windows so I could take it back to its owner. Just before I woke up, as I was approaching the spot where I last saw its owner, I noticed he wasn't there. And then a thought occurred to me- given this creature's abilities, did it really need my help and was I really doing the best thing for it? It was probably enjoying its new-found freedom.

It is sort of a nature spirit, an animalistic daeva. They are a type of astral scout. I dont want to say he's a guide, more of an interested bypasser. I see him having connections to the Fae, the Sidhe...meaning here that you were something interesting and he wanted to have a look-see. It would be worth your while to make friends with him though. He is the type of creature that sees much but is rarely noticed, and if he is, ignored. Those qualities are very useful in a guardian. :)
