VERY strange nightmares

I used to have a dream when i was, I'd guess, about 6 or 7.

I was in a cradle of some sort on the ground in a very dark room. There were two other people with me in the room, but i couldn't see them. Although i couldn't see them, i had a feeling they were VERY tall. Probably about 10 or 20 feet tall. The dream started out with the two men counting. They would count quietly, in a whisper almost at first. As the dream went on, they would get louder and louder until they were yelling at each other. Then there would be a third voice, which sounded like my mother, which would tell them to stop yelling. The two men would go back to a whisper, but gradually build up. This would repeat over and over.

I also remember one night, I had this dream, so I went in my parents room to sleep. I fell asleep having that dream, and woke up with a scream. My mom woke, but my dad didn't. Then she comforted me, and i started to drift off again. But the number 312 was circling my head. My mom, as if she could see it, waved her hand over my head and the number disappeared. I said thanks, and she said you're welcome. Then I went to sleep.

I don't know what this means at all, or why it scared me, but it did.

Some times dreams mean nothing at all.  Childhood dreams tend to be even more screwy than the ones we have as we get older.  Largely since a child's mind is more abstract.

I would be willing to bet that it was not so much the number that bothered you but the association of it with the two men.  Children are often scared of things like two people yelling, mostly because they often can not understand the confrontation.  We as adults look at two people yelling at each other and say, "Oh their yelling about who spilled the milk."  Where as a child only knows that they are yelling and do not fully understand the emotion or the reason behind it, and are scared by it.
