So I've heard that, when in a dream, if you jump off a building ,or something high enough to kill you in real life, that if you don't wake up before you hit ground, you will actually die in real life.
Basically if you hit hard ground in your dream, you will die.
I want to know if this is actually true. And if it isn't what will happen when you hit the ground and supposedly not die?
p.s: i didn't hear it on this forum. Or any other forum.
Thanks for responses,

It's not true. End of story. :)
Jump off of a space station in orbit around the earth... you will be fine. ;)
oh, well then, thanks for replys, gona go sleep and smash my head on pavement and see what happens lol.
I fell off a building once, hit the ground & I could feel it, that is when I woke up. That happened once, I just woke up really shocked, it felt so *real* as if I tripped not like I got smashed to death or anything. I will never forget that because I always thought you would wake up before you hit the ground :-P every now and then I have the most dangerous dreams, if you were to die in dreams I would have been dead long ago
i've been shot in the head in a dream before and i didnt get any dreain bramage.

honestly, i think that's all just luck and coincidence. I mean think about it, how is your brain going to process what hasn't happened yet, and when the numbers are picked, it is all random, making it even more impossible. But if it was possible, then professional lucid dreamers or people who can get in touch with their sub conscious part of the mind, would be EXTREMELY rich. Oh and not to mention invincible since they can see what is going to happen and when.
Think about it.
Is this possible or not?
If you say yes, how?!

who says your brain processes it.
not random.
lucid dreamers it is just a test to see if they go down the right path or not!
possiable maybe
what would you do with the knowledge if you were taught to do so???
good luck

Out of all those things you listed... that one sounds the most curious. O_o
LoL

:NoY:
I've fallen off a cliff numerous time, crashed in a plane, shot, and eaten once. By a giant snake. So, thumbs up.
Aww, now i want to be eaten, see how the food i eat feels :)
I once killed myself in a dream and continued in it as a ghost... I think. The memories are really vague by now and I never wrote any of it down.
It's common for death in a dream to be symbolism of something coming to an end, or fear of something ending, like a relationship or school or job or quitting smoking or moving, etc. The good thing is that death comes right before rebirth.

That is totally fascinating! Did you feel like you were yourself, or someone different? Were you depressed in the dream? When you were in the process of killing yourself, did you have any thoughts of why you were doing it, or where you might end up? What did you do as a ghost?
Sorry about all the questions, but I've never heard of someone killing themselves and I find this really interesting. Thanks for sharing! :-)
Oh, yeah I've been shot, stabbed, buried alive.. fallen off mountains, and in a plane... there are so many, I can't recall them all right now. In the plane one, I slammed into the ground with dirt and debris all around me and I started hearing music... for a split second I was like...hmmmm.. then I realized it was my radio next to my bed that I was hearing. :-P

Well, like I said I don't remember too much. But I think I was running from something. I eventually reached a kind of artificial cliff (kind of like being at the top of a dam and looking down) and considered jumping off as an escape.
Erm, yeah. Then it gets kind of weird. Your question about whether I felt like myself is most appropriate because I think after that I watched "myself" just wondering (floating) around as a ghost (very stylised, almost cartoonish) close to the body. It didn't really feel like it was me though.
I woke up after that so it was just enough to realise I(?) had become a ghost but nothing much really happened after that.
Thinking about it now, I had a dream just a few days ago (I have written notes this time, yay!) in which I switched perspectives or something along those lines. Bottom line is that after waking up I wasn't really sure which character of the dream had been "me". I just opened a new thread (http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_dreams/interesting_dream-t32941.0.html) about it.

I don't know if I would consider that suicide. It's like being trapped in a burning building, you're just having to choose between which way to die. I see suicide as making a conscious, individual choice. Not one that is pushed upon you.
Thanks for explaining it more and thanks for the link. :-)
