Title: Does anyone else read when they dream?

Look up those poems on google. See if they were written by somebody else.

Reading in a dream is often considered impossible because, and excuse me I don't know the specifics, reading and dreaming come from opposite sides of the brain.  However in my own experiences when I am lucid in a dream there are certain things that I can read but not every thing.  Usually the reading is reduced down the most simple of phrases or words like that which is often posted on signs.  I have not experienced words changing when I am able to read.  There have been other times when I have picked up a news paper in a dream and been able to read the headline but not the articles.  Although I would get an impression of what they said.

It is possible that while lucid dreaming the logical side of the brain since active allows you to read.  I would wager that the amount you could read would be dependant on the level of clarity.  This also lends to the idea that the words when re-read changed, indicating a certain level of lucidity but with little control or lack of being able to maintain certain aspects.

Do you lucid dream?  Is it some thing you are working towards?

I do not know! I think I dreamed and read in my dream. Like sign post, that kind of reading.

Now reading a book in a dream is[8)]

Beavis, I will try and memorize some of the lines so I can research it on google next time it happens. Wonderful idea!

Nazier, very often my dreams have a high degree of clarity. But as for control... Ehh I'd say it's passive control at best. I don't lucid dream... I suppose I should work towards it.

Timeless, when I write I seem to only be able to write "quality" lines when I do it from hunches, or impromptu spouts! Perhaps, the lady was a guide and has been influencing my writing. Heh, one time I was brushing my teeth when I felt lines of prose fly into my head. I had to drop everything and scramble for a pen.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can further this in my dreams? Should I try and learn some LD techniques? Anyone have them? Or maybe work on contacting this lady, if indeed she is my guide?

Hi all!

According to LaBerge when writing is re-read in a dream it changes like 95% of the time I think it is. I have read heaps of things in dreams from clocks and signposts to essays and books. When it comes to numbers they ALWAYS change for me the 2nd time I read it. With books if i re-read a passage then only some of the words change.

I have had some really weird incidences occur where I am able to make up songs and poetry on the spot that actually rhyme and sound good! For example, one time i was walking down a street and a guy insulted me, i insulted him back through song/poetry and it rhymed and sounded so cool it made me look and feel awesome! I have also turned on stereos before and I will listen to a song I haven't heard in ages and every aspect of the song will sound perfect and exactly like it sounds in real life even though in real life i can't really remember the words! This is when there is no radio playing whilst im asleep aswell. One time I did have the radio on whilst I was asleep and about 5 songs were incorporated into my dream. On a rather unrelated topic I have also had dreams where I fight people and I am able to block every single hit! I am also able to pull off all this crazy butt kung fu as though I had been practicing it all my life, like I was some kind of martial arts expert. Hehehehe pretty trippy stuff! :)

I mostly read words I can't decipher. I've already found the meaning of 'Predoque'(latin) and 'Babaevi'(turkish), but I'm still searching for the meaning of 'baldara', wich I saw written on the wall just as I awoke, and 'nossosis', written on a yellow box that was in my astral room.

I've also heard interesting songs that at the time I thought really existed.

One of them was a grunge rock that went like: inspiration sets you free... blame it for yourself...

Note it said 'for yourself' instead of 'on yourself'.

One another was a cacthy song 80's style I think, it went: You gotta keep the earth on habit.. You gotta keep the earth on habit..

And repeated that chorus a few times.

Eventually I dream in English lol.

I had a really amazing dream set last night. In one of the last dreams I was at a dance with this blonde I met. We were dancing and having a good time when I began to read her poetry. I had written this poetry impromptu somehow and now I was reading it to her. Well the lines were, IMO, amazing. As I read more and more, it got more intense and I got excited at their stunning nature. I became so absorbed in it that I wanted to remember all the lines when I awoke, so I went back and began to read it over. As I re-read the lines they changed. They were still good, but no matter how many times I re-read it, the lines would always change to something new.

It was frustrating, to say the least! I woke up with a word, a new word I've never heard before in my life: prevenient - Coming before; preceding. Expectant; anticipatory. As in her prevenient nature. Anyone have a similar experiance?
