OK so this is a strange one and a recurring dream I have been having on and off for years.
This afternoon I had it again, probably at its most vivid. But basically the scenario is, is that I have a problem. My jaw is locked wide open and I cant close my mouth because my teeth are in the way.  Its usually like one or two teeth on one side prohibiting it, and as i try and force my mouth to close im feeling the pressure and my teeth breaking. (in some cases ive spat out bits of teeth).  I can sometimes try and get round the problem by manoevering my jaw to the side a bit.

Its really really strange, and of course in reality your teeth cannot get in the way if your mouth is wide open! But in the dream state, this seems perfectly feasable as I have the problem.

This afternoon was a particularly vivid horrible dream.  As I was trying to close my mouth, I could feel the imense pressure on my teeth and gums. I could feel the teeth crack and break.  Unfortunately I didnt become lucid or aware at all that I was dreaming in this dream.

I managed to wake up and I didnt move at all. I noticed that i was sleeping with my mouth partially open, as most people do.  Perhaps the sensations in the dream are caused by sleep paralysis of me trying to close my mouth in the physical but can't because im in SP?

I've heard of plenty of stories of people dreaming of teeth falling out. But I'm not sure if anyone else has ever had this one or if its common at all?

Like you said, teeth falling out, as well as breaking, are very common dreams. I think that one along with suddenly being naked somewhere are the top two.

Man, just be lucky your teeth don't ACTUALLY fall apart in your sleep and come out when you wake up. That's happened to me at least twice. No dream there.  :-(
