Last night I had a 'dual dream'. What I mean by this is that I was having a dream about my friend Stephen going to live and work in Cardiff and also another another along side it. BUT I cannot remember the other dream. Also, in the 1st dream later on into it a man was beating me with a poker and me screaming out. I remember thinking in my dream that altough I was screaming in my dream I was not going to wake my husband up as the scream was in my sleep so he wouldn't be able to hear it. But he did and woke me up. I went back to sleep again and had another dream in which I was telling Stephen all about my dream of his going to live and work in Cardiff. So I was in effect dreaming about a dream, wasnt I? All in all it was a very strange night of dreaming.

Well, through my experience the "dream in a dream" phenomenon is a misinterpretation.  You can't have a "dream in a dream", because you can only "dream" (singular).  Whatever occurs within that dream, be it multiple scenarios (or even multiple scenarios are the same time) are just that.

the physical body can dream at the same time as the astral body, this sometimes causes feedback and reality fluctuations during an OBE

so maybe you did have 2 dreams at the same time

I've had 3 different experiences simultaneous. And it was madness! Seriously, I was conscious of myself in bed and 2 different dream situations at the same time. I couldn't make sense of it, but it can happen.

Yes, it sounds like you were dreaming about a recent dream.

Dream scenarios can get very strange. The unnerving sort to me are the False Awakenings. I think I have done something when in reality I only dreamed I did it.

Some people report multiple False Awakenings and they start to freak out, thinking they are stuck in an endless dream world and can't wake up.

That has happened to me. I once was once dreaming, or having a low-level OBE, when I awoke with a crash (there was an actual crashing sound and a snapping). I then DREAMT I was making another attempt at OBE in a chair, lol, and woke up from that in my bed. 3 False awakenings in a row might be scary though... I would begin to suspect I might be dead.
