Call out, perhaps several times in a row: "Guide, I want to see you. Show yourself!"

You have to be in the astral/LD. The RTZ will do too.

Any guide you find within Focus 2 oC isn't going to be anything exterior to yourself.
They'll simply be an aspect of yourself that you created.  So, yes, calling out should be more than plenty to entice one to show up.
Actually, the simple act of "desiring" it will put the intent out for it to happen.  Hence the "thought = direct action" thing.

Focus 3 oC is where you'll start to find guides that are not of your own creation.

Carl Jung proposes a technique for contacting your "guides".  Though in his theory it's your subconscious that you're personifying and talking to, but same thing.  He called it active imagination.

F2 experiences aren't necessarily all coming from yourself, it can be influenced from things outside of yourself, possibly from a guide. But it's more likely to be heavily filtered through your mind and can be turned into your own creation, hence wacky dreams that don't make sense. If all of it was strictly you, messages and communications in dreams wouldn't be possible at all.

That's what Bruce Moen teaches as well. I personally don't like it because of aberrations that can come up from your own mind (f2 in relation to my previous post).

what if "you" are connected to a collective?  Furthermore, what if you are a holographic piece of the collective "unconscious".  I don't see why you couldn't receive messages from deep in your mind, from places that you don't normally have access too, ie, the source.  technically it could still be considered from you.

Yes!  That is true... it's something I keep forgetting about as well.  :)
Thank you for reminding me.

I need to remember to blur that line between Areas of Focus somewhat.

What I mean is a communication from an outside source that may be incorrectly interpreted through your own filtering, or mixed up with personal beliefs and fears and stuff. In other words, it's too similar to channeling.

I mostly use intuition, and intuition seems to go deeper than that - it comes from an inner part of yourself, "deeper" than F2 and isn't colored by the astral. It's not as direct, but it's always correct.
