That is a very interesting experience.  It raises questions about the nature of "sleep paralysis", and I believe the solution to your "possesion" could be found in understanding more about the phenomenon of sleep paralysis.  I have theories about sleep paralysis and it's relation to a lack of awareness in dreams.  I believe that it is possible to be awake in the world as you are usually in a dream, but as only a passive observer.  usually, it is your "ego consciousness" that is "aware" of events taking place in reality.  I use the term ego-consciousness simply as a way of discerning the differnce between psychological gestalts.  (Use a dictionary if you think I'm getting ahead of myself)  The ego is the upper-most level of awareness of self.  This is the gestalt in which we recognize that we exist and are aware.  I believe that, just as in most dreams, we can be awake in reality but our ego-consciousness is not quite fully aware and in control.  Now here's the catch.  No one knows the nature of dream psychology.  There is no scientific study (other than very few institutions) available to truly define the difference between "waking consciousness" and "sleeping consciousness".  I believe that they are vastly different.  I've had a similar experience to yours in my life.  I absolutely do not recommend using drugs to anyone.  However, I did experiment with drugs when I was younger.  Once, I used mesculin, speed, and acid, and my friends and I passed each other out.  When I was coming to, I would go through a stage of consciousness in which my body was doing things which I had no control over.  I was even talking to people and just listening, helplessly, as I said things to my friends.  I do not believe this to be possesion.  I believe that there is a truly scientific way to explain this phenomenon, and the key to explanation lies in defining the differences between "waking psychological gestalts" and "sleeping psychological gestalts" and our level of interraction with reality and awareness during those experiences.

I think I understand what youre saying. It was like I was slipping in and out of "dream conciousness". Each time I would go back to waking conciousness, I was paralyzsed. And the second time I was paralyzed is when my head was thrashing around of it's own accord, which I still don't know what's up with that. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this?

OK either I'm going crazy or I'm going crazy? Last night I had a very terrifying experience, I still shake a little everytime I think about it.

I was dreaming a really creepy/scary dream, and then at the end I became aware that I was dreaming about flying around in what looked like the house I used to live in, but it was different at same time (different hallway/rooms,etc). Anyway, I was flying in the hallway (which was full of spirits?) and having all these creepy feelings, and going towards my "room" while hunting for evil ghosts along the way. When I get to my room, there was three beds isntead of just mine, with some stranger sleeping in one of them, and my sister sleeping in the other one.

OK, this is the part where it turns terrifying. Everyone in my "room" suddenly wakes up, and my brother who was inside the other room comes out and him and sister ask me what I'm doing, and I tell them I'm "ghostbusting and hunting Slimer" (from the movie Ghostbusters I guess?) Then immediately after that, my sister's face changes into a wierd evil look and she goes after my hand and bites it. While I'm struggling to break free I decide to end this nightmare, and I wake and find out I'm under sleep parylyisis (spelling?).

OK, this is the part where I just start freaking out. I try to move around but I can't. I try and try,, then I notice I can move my feet, but nothing else. At this point I can see the image all around me of my "evil" sister biting at my hand (was I still dreaming?) My brother asks me who this Slimer is and I hear a voice say "your next door neighbor" I start getting nervous and scared and I try to move to break free, and then all of a sudden.........

I start thrashing my head around, but I think to myself, "um I wasn't trying to move my head around, what's going on?" At this point I notice my head is still thrashing around "by itself", and that I'm still trying to break free from this sleep parylysis. Then I start hissing like a vampire while my head is thrashing around "by itself". I don't know what is going around and I start freaking out, thinking to myself that I can't move, but my body is "moving by itself". I don't know how to say it, I get this vibe that I KNOW it wasn't me doing all these things, (moving my head around and hissing with my mouth open like some kind of vampire,) it's like my body had a mind of it's own.

I finally break free from the parylysis and I just lay there for the next 10 minutes all freaked out and shaking. This is one of the scariest dreams, if not the scariest I've ever had. I would like to know what anyone thinks about anything that happened, did I catch a neg "possessing" my body giving me this nightmare, or am I just going crazy?
